How many gamers in general do you think would want something like IPTV and pay for it or own an HDTV? Cause most people, a vast majority of people do not own an HDTV.

So with that in mind it would make sense that the maybe 10-15% of the 10 Million 360 userbase would be angry about the Elite.

Good point. But I don't think it is even about the new features. It is the perception that hey...my 360 is no longer the best one available. While Sony now only has one option...the consumer is getting the best system available and don't have to choose.

People have budgets dude they don't look for what's most expensive or top of the line they look for what the need for what they wanna do. If you wanna play games then you need the Prem if you wanna play games on HDTV and have IPTV you need the Elite

I pointed out the budget thing earlier...but even if you buy the core then after you have to buy all the stupid over priced add-ons from M$ why not just get the elite...which is the BEST option available.

 Some people will never need the 120GB HDD or HDMI, some people play on SDTV's and just want to play offline.

While we all know the 360 is a hardware failure bonanza... Don't act like the PS2 didn't have huge problems. My PS2 never broke in like 5-6 years or so but many people have had their PS2 break so it's not like Sony is perfect in their hardware or anything

Are you nuts?  Why does MS have 3 different versions out?  Why the elite?  To compete with Sony.  MS fans..."HDMI is over-rated and you don't need a 60gb HDD."  Well now they are pissed because there is a 360 with HDMI and a large hard drive.  Why doesn't the elite have their precious HD-DVD built-in?  If you stand by MS, you will have to pay way more for the best things available for the system rather than just simply buying ONE piece of equipment. (ps3)

I'll say it again and again... Elite is not for everyone nor is it for most people. It's fow the few percentage that want those elements. And why would they have HD-DVD built in? Makes no sense since they won't put any games on HD-DVD. You wanna watch movies, you have the option to buy it. You dont? Then buy a premium if you wanna play games and that's it

Well thats fine everyone feels different some people always want the best, some want what suits them best and others want the bare minimum just to be able to play.  Thats the great thing about having 3 systems its the ability for all those people to get what they want, it gives the consumer a lot of choice, and sure if you add HD DVD it ends up being as much as a PS3, but we arent forced to have one.  If you are a movie buff you can purchse one, but if you are only a gamer you aren't forced to have a feature that won't affect you.

Like wanting the Premium and then also maybe another game or if their happy with their bundle like I was with my free four games then you can get XBL or an extra controller. People don't just spend an extra $80 or $50 if they don't have to. Maybe you do but you arent everyone else. If someone wants 120GB and HDMI then they will get that if they want it. If they don't then they will just get the premium. Why don't you get that?

 You seem to love living in fantasyland. The PS2 by far was crapping out more. Funny thing, MS acknowledged the problem after 1 year is replacing the bad units, it took Sony almost 2 years and a class action suit to finally do something about it.

DRE's (Disc read errors) Owners of early PS2 models commonly reported faulty DVD-ROM drives in their consoles. The earliest drives suffered from the laser lens distance problems. The lens would either get too far or to close to the Game disc. The first problem is easy to fix; it requires opening the PS2 and twisting a gear to control the distance the laser lens would stay from the game disc, this voided the warranty Later defects were the result of voltage changes in the laser. Eventually this problem became widespread, and a  lawsuit was filed against Sony. They lost and had to offer free repair and replacements at their discretion.
