2. even if you did have 1, you could still be a fanboy. I had a ps2 last gen but i still hated it and like xbox better. Just because you have it doesnt mean your not a fanboy. Ive been on these forums a lot and its easy to tell that you have a thing against the 360

I still cant understand where teh console fanboys got the idea that the next gen consoles are running on insanely high settings...and that it takes thousands of dollars for a PC tower to match them...

90% of their games run at locked 30fps even if the consoles can run faster most TVs cant output more than 30fps without tearing....

The antialiasing and anisotropic filtering levels are bottom low...GeoW jaggies and the pathetic distance textures of Oblivion show that...

Oh and last the resolution, I would say that its kinda sad...how low it is...

The point of this topic is to eliminate the fairy tale that one would need to constantly upgrade to keep on the SAME level as teh consoles...which is complete and utter bullocks...
Check any benchmark you want a PC that includes a X1950Pro coupled with a C2D6300 can run Oblivion at 30fps with x4AA/AF and at 720p EASILY....which comes at $700 PC tower in total...hell Ive found a £320 PREBUILT tower here in UK that has a 7600GT and a C2D6300...just a simple upgrade of the GPU to a 8600Ultra later this year will bring its cost to £420...a PS3 will cost £425...

CONSTANT UPGRADES are NOT needed if you want SAME level of graphics as the consoles...because setting WONT go up they will remain SAME for 5 years...

just because i love my 360 doesnt mean i dont have a pc, its not the best pc but it will do. Its just a dell dimension E510 with a pentium d processor. I have a x1900xt video card and dont plan on upgrading any time soon. The pc itself is only a couple months old

my video card is only direct3d9.0 compliant, i will have to upgrade my pc to get the same experience as your getting. Im not trying to bash crysis or anything btw, its one of my most anticipated games

Gears of war has the best looking and highest res textures out right now, thats what makes the game look so great... in fact, thats what makes the engine look so nice as a whole unreal engine 3.0 supports the highest res textures right now and probably will continue to until project offset engine is complete

In late 2005 there were radeon x850s and the 360's gpu was equal to an x1800/x1900(not quite sure which one) at that time. That's amazing. Same thing with the trio core cpu(each core dual threaded). At that time it was the best cpu. Now, although PCs will pass consoles within a year of release, the consoles will still beable to play games for 5 years, that's how long they are built to survive.

i never said that Alan Wake and PO will look the same as the pc versions. In fact, P.O. hasent even been announced for the 360 yet. Secondly, the game that john is making is going to be 360 exclusive for the time being. He believes that there is much to be learned about both xenon and xenos that will progress pc development from a technical standpoint. He wants to learn the unified shaders and also he feels multicore development is the way of the future. The game will also feature his lastest version of mega-texture tech that will allow him to create massive environments while at the same time ignoring some of the memory limitations of the gpu.

i also hear a lot of you guys saying " its not directx10 version so it wont look good" Im sorry but it just doesnt work that way because its a closed box and has a unique architecture and developing environment.

In fact, the xbox360 technically isnt even directx9c    

Xenos does have the Shader execution and instruction count to be Direct X 10 capable however the Xenos doesn't have FP32 HDR support among other things to being fully Direct X 10 compliant.

Yeah, PC games have better graphics and they look better but graphics aren't everything. You are acting like console games hurt your eyes, they look good enough to play and have fun with.
