I`m pc gamer my self and dont act that 720p 4xaa isnt enough ;) its no high end what so ever but its pretty high ;) so making thread about how you play one or another game at 2650p , 32x aa,120af and how it makes other games look ridicilously ugly ... man sorry for this but pc has lots more to it than what are you trying to defend. i repeat xbox360 has pretty good standards and thats not low level settings ;) [ the only thing i think xbox360 games lack are af filtering, but i see some games supporting that feature however not much ] ;) aAaLive

My thread wasnt to brag about the PC settings...
It was to show to all these people that post how a $2000 PC is needed to match the consoles...which is not true because of the low-mid end settings that the consoles are running on...

Let me just clear something up. PCs can come standardized with sleaker operating systems than the XBOX, with more intuitive controls, gamepads, hooks up to the TV through 2 cables, can stream games from discs, and ultimately be the exact same as a console. So, the next person who says "ZOMG ITS CONFUSING LAWL", i'd have them know that we can be EXACTLY LIK E YOU. Oh and the console isn't immune to these problems.

A $900 could easily outperform consoles, provide the same experience, and cost less over the span of a generation if all you're wanting is a standardized machine with a wealth of games that cost less.

so it takes a $900 PC to outperform a $300 xbox 360 ....... wow just wow

Not just outperform, but demolish. Oh and you're getting what you're paying for. Multimedia, entertainment, creative drafting, movies, games, work, etc.

I don't recall anybody say you would have to constantly upgrade, but in order to keep playing all the new PC games at MAX settings, you're going to need some expensive hardware. That's a given. You saying Oblivion has crap textures etc. etc. doesn't mean **** It's a gorgeous game on every platform and if you can't see it, that's your problem and yours alone.

If a PC cost 3 times as much as the 360 I'd expect it to , and whats sad is with PC's you can have all that power and still nothing to play. Crysis is the only thing on PC this year pushing the Hardware and thats pitful .

Agreed but Oblivion on Max settings>>>>>Oblivion on Xbox360 settings
If you want BETTER graphics as the console you have to pay more
If you want SAME graphics as the console you dont

It doesn't have to push the hardware to be worth playing. Hellgate London, the Japan Earth, Spore...

[QUOTE="Spartan070"]Console games improve as devs get more familiar with the hardware. Could we have imagined that the 64mb of RAM Xbox could pull Black and Ninja Gaiden when it launched? Course not.True_Gamer_

Thats why things have changed...
Could you imagine in 2000 that a €170 GPU would perform same as PS3 at LAUNCH?(march 2007)
How about €170 for a processor (C2D 6300) that has 2 mb of cache? When in 2000 a P4 at 1.5Ghz and with 256kb of cache costed smth like $1000...
The PC hardware has gone very low in price...the same sadly cant be said about neighter the console software nor hardware....

If you say so...

90% of their games run at locked 30fps even if the consoles can run faster most TVs cant output more than 30fps without tearing....

Gaming PCs wipe the floor with consoles! No matter how much you deny it but Oblivion looks alot better on PC than any other console! And some 360 games drop frames drastically! Like for e.g. Saints Row.. Even on consoles you can differentiate between 30 and 60fps. Loook at burnout revenge on 360 now tht game was doing 60 and it was really smooth.. Every console game on Pc is graphically better. PC gamers like to play their games at 60fps and with all the settings on high thts why most of them upgrade but console owners dont understand tht as they believe what they are getting (even lower settings in games) is high, which is nonsense! I believe True_Gamer has a point and rest of you are in denial..

Did you type that from you Xbox360? Nope... So add a $300 non gaming PC to that Xbox360...plus $250 for 5 years online plus $15 price difference in games...

Or you can just buy a $400 360 and plug it into the TV and play it.

No need to put anything together, no need to troubleshoot, no hassle, just all games

Or you can do a $400 upgrade and play many more games (that are better, for the most part.) Putting in the parts is like putting in a memory card in your PS2 -- you just need a screw driver. And nope, trouble shooting is done automatically.
