360 Fans.. Getting nervous? 2008 around the corner.. No Killer APPS announced

I'll still be catching up on this Novembers releases along with GTA 4 on the 360 to care what comes out in 2008 for it.

And in 2008 I should have enough new coming on PS3 to satisfy that system, and I have at least 6 Wii titles from this past year I need to get and play through still.

2008 will be another busy year to be a gamer.

And no i dont mean multiplats such as GTA IV, Dark Sector, Army of two or Devil May Cry. I mean as far as exclusives go, ok Too Human yea might be ok, but come on.. MS has its work cut out for them in 2008, they have to announce something to overshadow MGS4, Killzone 2, GT5 and Little Big Planet.

Now I know what most of you are going to say.. You are going to throw names at me like Lost Odyssey, Banjo, Alan Wake, Halo Wars,Ninja Gaiden 2 and Fable 2. Grant it those might be great games but you have to understand that half of those are unproven franchises while the other half are titles that wont appeal to the average casual..

So what will MS do to counter MGS4, Killzone 2, Little big planet and GT5?. Everyone knows that when MGS4 hits, IT WILL BE HUGE and OMG dont even get me started on Killzone 2, if that game turns out to be good it will OWN 2008. Another thing to keep in mind is the 36's popularity was built on online multiplayer games NONE of the exclusives announced so far for next year are multiplayer heavy.. bottom line is, if MS doesnt announce Gears of war 2 for 2008 or something extraordinary, then they have A LOT OF WORK TO DO!

2008 will be such a great gaming year I can hardly contain myself.

Alan Wake is my most anticipated title so I'm good with the 360. But the ps3 has a lot of great stuff as well.

Fable is a proven franchise? Last time I checked there is one decent game in that franchise.. Nothing else..

Sony's line-up is amazing and I am probably picking one up 2008 Autumn/Winter after deciding not to get one this Xmas.

But it has to be its not selling as well as a fairly new console should be especially in its 2nd Xmas period. 2008 is very big if it keeps being out sold by 360 & Wii it will be big trouble for the PS3.

But to knock MS line-up is bit silly. Gears2 will be released end 08 and is huge maybe bigger than halo now, Alan Wake, Banjo, Halo Wars, Fable 2 which was a big seller on the orig Xbox, Splinter Cell is pretty hyped. Theres many more as well.

Its gonna be a great year for all camps for sure. The PS3 has had it rough in 07 but 08 looks potentially great. Lets hope the games live up to their hype, fingers crossed.

Ninja Gaiden is more proven than half of the franchises you just listed. Killzone lol? Try again. I'm doubtful for Too Human, but Alan Wake looks like it could be one of the most promising 360 titles. The team behind it already has a AAA franchise on its back, and some of the best tech of this current generation.

MGS4 looks amazing, but it isn't one of the biggest sellers. GT5 will no doubt be the biggest selling of all those games you listed.

Besides, in comparison the PS3 might have more exclusive big titles coming out next year, but the 360 has a larger catalogue of AAA titles already on the system, as well as a larger library in general. 2008 will see the PS3 play a good game of catch up to the 360, but I don't see any reason to disregard either system as of yet.

that is exactly my opinion too, cows seem to think having a good 08 makes the ps3 suddenly leader of this gen. the 360 has had a pretty damn good lineup since release,no console will have killa apps every year.

MGS4 killer ap? wat a load,Out of all the gamers and nerds that i know locally i have only known one to own a mgs4 game, i seriously doubt it will be a system mover. GT5 dfeinately arguably the next instalment of the best racing series ever, i am actually excited about the Kanes Wrath expansion more than anything else. Oh and FF really doesn't appeal to the casuals most casuals lack a the sophistication to actually sit down and enjoy the game.

dude lets face it, you know it and i know it that while Banjo, NG2 and fable 2 will be great, they arent exactly what many would consider "Killer apps" Im talking about KILLER APPS. Games that make people skip school and call in sick for work, games that will MOVE systems. Im talking about the Gears of war, Halo and COD4 type of games and lets face it.. 360 doesnt have anything of that level announced so far

Folklore is boring, Uncharted well I forgot about that one. Never seen it in person so I can't say. I hated Motorstorm. Resistance....ah I liked Gears of War better. I'll get a PS3 like I said but first I'm waiting for MGS4 to come out.

Nope, not worried at all. Heck, I have so many games that I still need to finish that I will be busy till Spring not to mention Mass Effect next week should keep me busy for a while. I will look at what is in the hopper for the 360 sometime early summer then decide if I need to get a new counsel to keep me busy.

... and this is why Microsoft has no work whatsoever to do. Most people own a 360 - so, when those multiplats come out, they're going to buy them for the 360. And if someone wants one of the games but they don't have either system - they'd buy the 360 becaause of the cheaper price tag.

Microsoft doesn't have anything to counter MGS4 - they have to count on the fact that people (like myself) wouldn't pay $600 to get one good exclusive game for a system. Regarding Killzone 2, the first one did so well... of course, there's a chance it could be a much improved game - and it probably will be. But I'm getting the distinct feeling that this one's being over-hyped. Littlebigplanet... you're serious? It looks like it'll be fun - but, it isn't going to bring in the big bucks for the PS3 or cause anyone to buy the system. And GT5... 360 owners need only turn to Forza... this coming from an owner of GT4 - who loved it.

And those of you who want to bring up Uncharted... well, it looks like it'll be a good game - the reviews so far have shown it to be just that... but that's not going to be that amazing game which'll get consoles to fly off shelves: mark my words... the PS3 was dead when the price tag read $600 - and it'll continue to lag behind the other systems until it can cut its price to about $350... which would mean that Sony would lose a boatload of cash.

Haha... and don't even bring up the multiplayer stuff - so long as Halo 3 sticks around (no matter what you think of it), you have to know that people are still gonna buy the 360. And people are still gonna fork over the cash to Microsoft to play on Xbox Live.

So... now would be the time to say goodbye to the PS3 - it's as good as dead.

Folklore boring? Have you played the game yet. I didn't like Motorstorm that much either, graphics were great but the gameplay was meh to say the least. Resistance is a lot better than Gears in terms of gameplay. Gears has the stupidest partner A.I in gaming history. Do you know what regroup means Don(what the hell do you mean you can't)?
