The graphics difference isn't even what I'm talking about. Having to load the game, patch the game, configure the settings so it runs smoothly on your PC, configure your controller or keyboard keys, make sure you have enough RAM andHDD space to run the game, shut down conflicting programs, deal with O/S Vista issues and bugs. With an XBox 360, I turn on the system, pop the game in the DVD player and hit the 'START' button. Yes, the experience is completely different and it's not the graphics. :roll:

you act like you have to do that each time you want to play it. it's a one time thing (usually)that doesn't take that long and isn't even required for most games.

I'm not saying that everything I mentioned above is required for every PC gamer, but I'm sure each PC gamer will experience at least 3-4 of thosethings when they go to play Crysis or Gears of War on their PC. Even if it's a one time thing, it still changes the experience compared to the XBox 360. I won't even get into hooking the PC up to a HDTV with a 5:1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound setup. How many gamers have their PC's hooked up to a 42in HDTV? A better question is, "How many gamers will hook their PC up to a 42" HDTV to play Crysis & GoW?" I don't expect many to do this. I wonder if the PC version of Crysis & GoW will use "STEAM". :?

Yes even one time is too much. I hate changing the controller setup on console games, so why on earth do I want to accept it on the PC when it requires a lot more cofniguring. not to meniton you have to "tweak" it to get the best bang for the buck on each system.

You have to deal with quesitons like:
Shadows: High, med, low, off

As I've said before, (may have been in another thread earlier though). Some have fun tweaking this stuff, I know I used to love it. It was great trying to find out how to max out your hardware. but now it's just tedious and boring to me and when I want to play a game I want to play a game...not play on a pc tweaking it.

I'm sure some/lots of people still don't mind or even enjoy the tweaking. But lots of people enjoy the less hassles of console gaming. And that is the experience difference I'm referring to. It's night and day between the effort required to play a game. Sure some may say that the effort is worth it or even fun. BUt for me it no longer is.

Your point is a good one - why is it that in the gaming industry (and only in the gaming industry) that it is acceptable practice to release unfinished product and sell it to consumers at full price? I agree with you that the PC realm is worse than the console one. Still, both suck when it comes to releasing broken software, with the intention to fix at a later date.

I agree that console games are starting to go the way of the PC with patches. During the PS2 & XBox days we never got any patches for games. If they were buggy, they just stayed that way. Now the the PS3 and 360 having large HDD, developers are releasing some games before they are truly finished and bug free. GRAW, Oblivion, COD2, etc... have all done this. I have a feeling it's going to get worse in the coming years as developers try to reach their deadline given to them by publishers. Hopefully this won't become the norm as it has on the PC.

I guess the superior sales of the Wii must mean that its better than the 360. You will acknowledge that the 360 is no longer relevant once the Wii has surpassed it in sales, right?

If you're talking about sales, WoW just got 9 million users (not copies sold, im sure its much over 10 million). So, i guess that must mean that one game > the the entirety of the 360, because, you know, sales is everything.

122games rated 7 out of ten or better- 360

36 games rated 7 out of 100 or better-PS3

72 games rated 7 out of 10 or bettr-Wii

I'm using 7 out of ten since that seems like a good threshhold of weather a game is worth $60 or not.

This all only matters if you care about exclusives.

In the end , it's the fanboy that cares about a game being only on his system, and not a gamer, who simply cares to play it.

I guess the superior sales of the Wii must mean that its better than the 360. You will acknowledge that the 360 is no longer relevant once the Wii has surpassed it in sales, right?

If you're talking about sales, WoW just got 9 million users (not copies sold, im sure its much over 10 million). So, i guess that must mean that one game > the the entirety of the 360, because, you know, sales is everything.

I own a Wii, so I'm happy for it. I have no problems with it surpassing the XBox 360 in hardware sales. It doesn't effect me. Also, I never said the PC gaming was irrelevant. I said many of the games are released on console first because they sell on consoles better then PC. Sorry, but that's a fact. The 360 is beating the Wii is software sales as well. :roll: WoW is a MMORPG and a popular one at that. I'm still playing it. It's a given that it will sell millions. Starcraft 2 will sell millions as well. Those games are a given to sellover 1 million copies. The different is that games like Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Oblivion, Fight Night 3, etc.. on the 360were not titles that were suppose to sell over a million copies, but they did. DR & LP are brand new IP's. Now if Spore or Crysis sells over 1 million copies, please let me know. :lol:

They are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAMES. It's not a matter of having the "best version," the version on the 360 isn't on any other platform, period.

And the sales somehow matter because...? What, if it doesnt sell a certain amount it somehow changes the fact that the title cant be AAA or not?

So because you pretty much have nothing argue with the fact that the PC also has a decent lineup of matching or surpassing the 360 you bring in the irrelevant point of sales... The PC may have a lot of "AAA" titles several years ago, but for 2007, they don't have many. Besides WoW, how many of these "AAA" games have sold over a million copies? Not many I'm sure.

What? First off, games like Dead Rising and what not sold well becuase there was hardly anything worth playing. The amount of quality titles directly affects the amount of units sold, which is evident by a game like Lost Planet selling well. For your information, Starcraft 2 will sell better than any 360 title, including Halo. Also, you can bet your tail that Spore is going to sell like hotcakes as well as Crysis. This is all true plus the fact that these games will get pirated as well, unfortunately, so the amount of people playing these games will go up substantially.

Man and for a system that alot of lemmings swear has the best games of all time, man 3 AAA exclusives is not much to brag about in almost 2 years out from launch. I think sony will have alot more AAA exclusives in its first 2 years.
