I saved the thread on my profile, calm down guys:PFor those complaining about the price, it's gonna be 200-250 elsewhere. And even if it did hit 300, you guys have SOMETHING to trade in to knock it down or so. I mean for me the DSi XL will knock it down greatly to 150 or so. And you know how famous Gamestop and EB Games are with their boost up trade ins.
To me I was already wanting the 3DS. Then this game and Megaman Legends 3 made it a NEED.
It looks like an anime show... Not a game. Basically a anime show turned into a game. Me dont get, I guess the culture of nintendo people is vastly different.

1. $250 is as high as it will cost in the states. Period.
2. People said the DS would flop because of its price (that it wasn't that much cheaper than the PSP).

Maybe in the current economy. But I don't think people would have thought much of it half a decade ago.
Besides, look at the whole issue with the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. The Gamecube was consistantly the cheapest, and yet it ended in third. Cost is a factor, but it's hardly the sole one for consumers.

Well yeah... $250 vs the $500-600 that the PS3 launched at.
PS3 and Xbox both launched at $300. Gamecube launched at $200. $100 > $30.

professor layton is heavy on cutscenes, and phoenix wright simply isn't because the GBA would never handle them properly.
both games still offer a huge amount of story-heavy gameplay. this is the announcement trailer, they don't want to spoil the surprise of "how the hell will this work".

nintendo really should make the system as cheap as possible (I know, easy for us to say). Most people only buy one system and stick with it, so they definitely want to push out the psp2, whatever it will be. If sony releases a more powerful system for the same money then the 3DS might be in trouble. The 3D gimmick is a powerful one but nintendo might not want to put too much faith in it. GunSmith1_basic
Why must everything new be called "gimmick"

umm, the 3D is totally a gimmick. Why must everything new be called "gimmick"
because that's what it is until it becomes standard. or at least that's how most people see it. replying to gunsmith's post, nintendo also has a big crowd (but then again, so did sony before the PS3) and the biggest third party support for a system launch ever. not to mention the overall lineup. i think they know what price they can charge without turning the 3DS into a new PS3.You came up with that conclusion without seeing any gameplay? It looks like an anime show... I actually didn't expect SW to be hyping this up much -- none of the 5 Ace Attorney games have made AAA, and only 1 of the 3 Layton games did. I guess in this case, fan excitement trumps scores.
Definitely. I didn't care much about the Ace Attorney games myself, but the Layton games are definitely some of the best to have been released in the past decade or so.I actually didn't expect SW to be hyping this up much -- none of the 5 Ace Attorney games have made AAA, and only 1 of the 3 Layton games did. The Ace Attorney games are quite popular and for good reason.
Phoenix Wright is everyone's favourite lawyer.
This game has sealed the contract for me. Purchasing a 3DS for sure.

Yeah. I think Ace Attorney's appeal lies less in the actual game -- of course the trials are great, heart-pumping and really funny -- but at its heart the Ace Attorney series is really an interactive visual novel. That's what people love about it: the characters, dialogue and sense of humor. But it's also not a series I ever see scoring AAA here, because its gameplay is light, repetitive and text-heavy by design. So while they're both story-heavy games, from what I gather (never played a Layton game before), Layton seems more about doing stuff. Solving lots of puzzles which aren't necessarily relevant to your character's situation and story.
Oh yeah it's worth it, at least when you buy the system your getting load's of 3DS content
unlike sony with there extremely poor attempt to push 3D on us, why aren't we playing all the new released game's in 3D is it so hard for the Dev's to do it.
Castlvania, Enslaved, Medal of Honor, Vanquish and Fallout NV should have 3D support
Layton and Ace Attorney series are THE reason I have my DS aside from Nintendo and other third parties. They define my handheld, and Ironically although I love and still own my PSP, it can't beat these two series following.
And to be honest I am not so inclined to buy PSP2. This game alone compels me not to and I am looking forward to Megaman Legends 3.

I would. UMD format flopped badly that Sony scrapped it save for games. PSP2 might use flash media or another sony made format.
