Honestly, though, I don't think Monster Hunter 3 will be a huge factor.
I already disputed the validity of the survey, so take this with a grain of salt, but another thing to note in it is that a pretty sizeable group has a Wii, but won't be getting the game. Why is that?
From what I've heard about the Monster Hunter phenomenon in Japan, a lot of the appeal of the game is in local group play. People get together with the game and adventure together with their characters. It's a communal experience (kinda like trading Pokemon, in a way). But if the game is on consoles, you can't have those get-togethers in the same way. As a result, any console Monster Hunter will be less successful than a portable one, at least in Japan.
