Treyarch has proven themselves quite competent at following a set formula on an established engine, but (IMVHO) has never shown themselves to be trailblazers, which is exactly what people seem to be pinning all this hype on. They can tell some good stories, I personally enjoyed The Big Red One, and Cod 3, but when your story mode is a 5 hour tack on to a multiplayer shooter, I'm not gonna give it too much credit.

Maybe it will be a radical departure. Maybe. And if so MAYBE it will even be as good - or even better - than the game the series has been apeing for years. But what I'm seeing is several SW posters talking about the huge departure this game is, when all they've seen is a walking tank and some horses. And if all they had to do to get critics to forget just how stale the CoD formula has become was to Move ahead 15 years, or put it in Space, or go to the Wild West, ect., then Activision will be very pleased come November, and many Novembers to come.

I think the thing with Treyarch is they seem to have a MUCH better idea of how to balance multi-player than IW does.

I think the main reason I liked Black Ops so much was because for once I wasn't constantly feeling cheated by people online who were exploiting bad design in the multi-player.

After the unbalanced mess MW2 was, they came right around with a pretty well balanced game which was kinda jaw-dropping.

In terms of them being innovative, they came up with the Zombies mode which is probably the single most fun secondary mode I have ever played in a game. It really is just brilliant.

Also, they brought the theater stuff to CoD and that was a really nice addition. Still have some wonderfully awesome clips on BO that I is proud of.

But yeah, if anyone is capable of breathing new life into the series it is Treyarch.

Gameplay wise halo will always be the champion.

I play COD for the whole experience. The awesome set pieces, and great pacing, cool scenarios. Not the combat.

I'm definitely interested to see if Treyarch can pull this off, and I hope to see a Wii U version of this game too because the new additions sound like they will be fantastic on the tablet controller.

Wow for the first time since 2006, I'm actually interested in a COD game. This makes two publishers, Sony and Activision, that have convinced me to buy their products again.

Get rid of custom classes and make weapon spawns=day 1 buy Still as a guy that has followed the series for awhile, i learned not to jump on the hype train until full MP gameplay is shown not told.eboyishere

Futuristic COD = WIN! Bound to be a lot more interesting, tech/weapon-wise. Cannot wait.

Seeing as Black Ops was my fav CoD I had been hyped for this game, but now I think this game could end up ALOT better than I had even anticipated!

Interesting to see how much they are changing. I guess they ARE hearing us out for a change. Even with MW3 they have been introducing some awesome multi-player modes via FREE updates that are fun as hell!

Seriously, Dropzone and Infected are the two funnest modes they have introduced besides zombies.

Well, from what i've seen of the trailer and those pics, the graphics still look atrociously bad, and it'll most likely play at a minuscule resolution just like the other two CoDs before it.

The info seems juicy, but i'll wait and play the campaign, then pass holy judgement. Maybe it'll cleanse the foul stench that this horrid franchise has put upon gaming.

COD story is bad by videogame standards? Really? Only a few games have decent stories. The rest is nothing but crap. There is no such thing as standards in videogame storytelling.. yet.001011000101101

Yes, really.. What the f*ck have you ben playing all these years? Try playing some PC games. Like, say, The Longest Journey and Planescape Torment. The height of video game stories have ben long since reached in the 90s, and have ben going in the gutter since then as technology progresses.

• The story is based on a real-world possibility, as China (according to the folks at Treyarch) currently controls 95% of ther are earth elements in the world. Topical!
