But you have no problem with 30fps either buying both next Gen consoles.
a bit off topic

don't know yet, since next gen consoles arent out yet
Well seeing as a GTX 680 ran Unreal Engine 4 and it looked better than the Unreal Engine 4 PS4 demo its safe to assume that a GTX 670/680 or HD 7950/7970 setup will be able to play multiplatform games from the coming generation at 1920x1080 at 60FPS and look as good if not better than the same game on PS4/X1. So a $900-1000 PC will be the ball park.[QUOTE="lostrib"][QUOTE="Cuby_Finest"]

Running with the master race.
Â
1080p for todays games, 2560x1440 for lesser demanding games, and 3180x1780 for games with no AA options, yes i hold 60FPS all the time.
Â
Even have many screens that prove it :)
Â
Upgrading from my sig rig too.
How have you not died in this heat running that 480?Running with the master race.

AMD655
It hits 75c maximum, not a standard 480, also runs with stock 7950's Beastly overclock :)

Being ok with something that you're stuck with is a different thing altogether. We'd all prefer 60 fps at 1080p but it's not gonna happen, at least not now, so we HAVE to be fine with having just 30 fps
I just noticed my card sitting at 73'C idle.

Idling at 73? :? Dafuq. Mine's idling at 42 right now and it's super hot in here
Depends on the tradeoffs. Are we talking 720P/60FPS vs 1080P/30FPS? I will almost always take the higher framerate. Resolution doesn't bother me as much.

34c idle, 52 c under walking dead capped at 75fps 1780p.
Â
My monitor can do 75hz.
Â
you need to do better cable management. I did mine for the first time and turn out somewhat ok. and 73c idle? is that even possible?I just noticed my card sitting at 73'C idle.

Hottest my card gets in say something like maxed Crysis 3 is 62-63 degrees on a normal day. On extremely hot days like all this week it can hit 70s
My monitor does 144Hz
3180x1780 downsampled to 1080p Vsync at 75hz. Â ( i also have the GTX 480 at it's stock clocks as this game does not need the extra power)
Â
Â
Both. At the moment Im gaming at 100fps/1080p
I'd love to get a 1200p screen one day.

1200p are very rare nowadays, the next step from 1080p is 1440p.
If I had to choose it would easily be 60 fps. Â Frame rate issues have been the biggest issue by far this console gen (especially on the PS3).
Though with the PS4's and X1's beefy archtecture it would be inexcusable for 60fps 1080p not be the standard a couple years into next gen.
I'll give launch titles a free pass.

Boddicker
as the games are getting bigger, more detailed and open world i don't see it happening 60fps 1080p (consoles) unless its a standard linear game
you need to do better cable management. I did mine for the first time and turn out somewhat ok. and 73c idle? is that even possible? Its always sat at 60'C when running two monitors, plus the airflow from the front fan in this 600T sucks balls.Â

Try putting some load on it, let's see where it goes! :P
I usually don't have to choose, being a PC gamer with a fairly strong rig. Â However, I always run at 1080p, since that is the native resolution of my monitor. Â There are a few games that run at between 30 and 60fps, although most are over 60. Â
[QUOTE="psymon100"]
I'd like 120Hz monitor pricing to come down.
dxmcat
I got my 27" 120hz for $430 :)
as for topic, 120fps or bust. :)
picked up my Samsung 23" 750D for $289 last year. It's seriously night and day.Depends on the game / sytem. Â A lot of console games can get away with 30FPS (though 60 is nice). Â PC FPS needs a smooth 60 FPS. Â THen again I guess it also needs high res and good AA :P.

As long as its a stable 30 i have no problem. I play Uncharted 3 on PS3 and i have no problems, game looks and runs great. So playing games with double the res of Uncharted 3 will be great xD but many games will be 1080/60, specially multiplats like Ass Creed 4 and COD ghost. Sony exclusives will mostly be 1080/30, except for stuff like Gran Turismo and maybe some others.
