Now the only people that play PC are those who sit in their bedroom, with the curtains closed,in the dark, huddled over a desk, smelling faintly of semen and urine.

And WoW well,i dont even wanna touch that

ukillwegrill

or people who are cool and smart like me who have their PC next to their entertainment system and hooked up to a 46" HDTV and a Dell 24inch monitor (because monitors are better than HDTVs).

its not rocket science to integrate your PC into your entertainment system..want me to show you? lol.

No thank you, mummy will do it for me.

Pc gaming is known as the nerd realm for a reason

and console gaming community is known for its immaturity and ingorance for a reason as well. thanks for proving it.

Anything for a friend

so you're admitting you're immature and ignorant? you should work more on that "I > logic" bit, it's not really working out.

I fly (real life), I ride horseback, I go to the theater (I'm not talking about movies), travel internationally, etc. etc. May as well say all console gamers are elementary school students, cause it sure sounds like it when I visit my nephews and get on Xbox live! There doesn't seem to be a single person on there over the age of 9.

Our resident grognard is here...it makes me want to fire up Open Falcon 4.5 again(in fact, I just did a few minutes ago), but I'm having technical issues like black screens in the sim portion. (Perhaps I need to try Red Viper instead so that I can stop troubleshooting and start flying...only to get shot down by those pesky MiGs that always stick to my six no matter what I do.) Oh, and will Battle of Britain: Storm of War support 6DoF TrackIR Enhanced mode? I wouldn't want anything less, but if I go the IL-2: 1946 route, I'll definitely be limited to 2DoF. (I'm still trying to decide what WWII-era sim to get into...while IL-2 is the most popular option, I'm also looking into BoB2:WoV.)

Because it would be insulting to refer to all the well-regarded PC titles that have released since as merely "good" instead of "great" or "excellent", right?

Yeah, notice I don't own a TV because TVs are too small. When I have the screen down the color bleeding isn't an issue, I just took that pic in a hurry. People come to my house to watch movies for a reason.

I'd like something like that. But probably an HDTV(Although they're smaller, I'm used to TVs, I'll stick with them for now, they're cheaper too), but with a higher risen coffee table, so I don't need to slouch. I really need a job. Also, do PC games often support the 1920x1080 res? Since it's not a monitor resolution(I don't think), but a TV one, I don't know if they'd support it much, I'm sure if not, there's something close though.

yes, its one of the standard resolutions. Usually though, youhave more chance of a game supporting 1080p if the game is a multiplatform released game. You can always edit the ini files or shortcut file if a game doesnt.

Well, I don't use the coffee table for KB/M, I have one of those hospital bed trays that I sit in front of me. As for resolution, I can't think of a game where you can't manually edit the resolution in the .cfg.

But manually editing wouldn't make it native though right? Just upscaled(I don't know though...). But I also thought of a hospital tray like thing before, especially for a bed room(Since I'd have a bed, not a couch).

The problem with console gaming and that is that they'd have to sacrifice things, with PC gaming, it's up to us to sacrifice things, or if we've got the cash, have it all. And that is why customization pwns. 640p for some games today on consoles is a little underwhelming.

most games can output at a lot of resolutions, its up to your monitor/tv/projection to support some or all of the resolutions. So yes, if you have a game that runs at 1080p and you play on an hdtv or 1080p projector, its 1:1 of course.

Oh. That's pretty cool. I'm sure they'll get most games supporting it in the res scroll bar thing soon though, I think one of the biggest PC marketing methods would be to emphasize home theater PC use. Most people see the PC as the desk thing, but if they saw it as something they could use for watching movies on the couch, it'd be so much more huge. I'm pretty sure you can even configure gamepads(Like the 360 controller) to control the OS. I should try that. It's sad that the only PC advertisements are, "Making PC personal again", that doesn't even make sense, it never stopped being personal, it needs more marketing, the fact that 80 percent of SW is unaware you can use a TV with it shows this. I wouldn't mind some horizontal PCs either, like they did in the 90s(But modern looking of course). Desktop and Home Theater PCs, that could make some of the Embedded Computers lose some momentum. Except handhelds. It'd be the ultimate media center. They've got windows media center and it's remote for movie and tv watching(And music), and the 360 controller for gaming(Keep the KB and M of course, but for more simplistic fun games like GeOW), it could be even bigger.

alot of companies make small form factor or horizontal "media center" cases.

Do they make any big gaming ones, or at least cases for custom gaming PCs? I wouldn't mind have my own PS3/360 stile(Sp to avoid censor) gaming PC.

In the end of the day PC gamers can keep RTS they all suck except Starcraft and Warcraft 3,MMOS I've played my share and I'm glade I dont play em any more since well for example playing WoW is $180 a year and thats one game...

PC gamers need to realize that two genres cant keep PC alive and healthy with FPS making their way to consoles and sometimes even selling better than their PC counter parts or they stay about the same (sales wise).RPGs are slowly making their way to PC (The witcher) but its not moving fast enough to make a impact like it did for consoles (my guess playing 5 hours+ on a KB can suck).A/A games especially so far in 08 have made their debut back to consoles with a long MIA of A/A in 07, NMH and DMC4 within a month of each other release wise is pure Ecstasy for A/A fans.

Now I'm not trying to say PC gaming is dead all I'm saying is its not improving or losing.

here are ATX form factor media center cases:

Do they make any big gaming ones, or at least cases for custom gaming PCs?

i havent come across some that are specifically made for gaming, no :( the closest is to stick to ATX so you have all the room you need for the big nvidia card and a good power supply.

some vertical cases do work as horizontal cases however, you might want to check that out. its more of an aesthetic question.

im quoting myself :P

personally, i wouldnt go for horizontal, for cooling issues and just that as you pointed out implicitly, they are usually not made for gaming.

nothing wrong with having a beautiful case like this sitting next to your home theatre:

I could easily just stick a vertical case next to the TV, I have nothing wrong with that. But I was thinking that a horizontal would be cool though. They should make some though, oh well. I'll probably just go vertical.

Oh, and do internal digital recievers support Cox digital cable, or just regular cable? Because watching digital cable using my PC and no digital cable box would be pretty cool.

Oh, that'd be cool to just have my PC as my one stop box, all forms of entertainment stored in it(And a sound reciever for surround sound of course). No digital cable boxes needed, no dvd players, just a huge PC, like a massive home server.

no, its more because your points have been raised over and over in system wars and those points have always been shot down in the millions of "pc gaming is dead" threads.

And????? You are saying we have more FPS than the console market, which is probably true and they are the best versions. RPGS have always been on PC, diablo is not a recent game. A/A? action adventure? You do know PC is getting DMC right? After NHM and DMC where is the next A/A game? Eh? PC also has alot more A/A games coming this year.

Also I'm glad PC users don't have to go through insipired rehash number 4,5,6 to get good games.

Im starting to believe that there are some people in system wars that dont even think about what they say. They just start typing out crap even if it is completely wrong. I always like to think before I act. Or in this case I think before I post. Oh and research on a subject would help to.

Don't think so. I have Cox myself. Digital cable transmits using a protected (usually) MPEG-2 transport stream, similar to that used by digital satellites. There's supposed to be work under way to create a portable standard to allow PCs to receive digital cable and so on, but the manufacturers and cable providers can't agree, and the FCC can't seem to force the issue.

In all honesty I havent gone to a friends house and played 360 in probably over a year. Most of the time I'm just playin by myself.
