Xbox had an 8 million console lead that Sony reduced to 2 millions. No matter how you want to see it or spin it the PS3 is selling better and at a faster rate than the Xbox console even with the success of Kinect.
Is this so hard to understand or are some people really that dumb? :o

Stop using logic, Lemmings hate that.
In 2005 if somebody told you that a "flawless" 360 that gained a decent foothold in Japan would still be ahead of the PS3 in Spring 2012 what would you have said? Now factor in the RROD fiasco and the complete avoidance of the Japanese market would you have believed that the 360 would STILL be ahead of the PS3? The 360 lead wasn't supposed to be shrunken down to only 2-3 million, the lead was supposed to have evaporated YEARS ago. The PS3 has bled money from sony for coming up on 6 years, all the while still not selling well enough to make MS lower the 360 price. Can you imagine where Sony would be if MS was concerned enough about sales to be willing to lose even half the money Sony did? The ONLY way you can call this gen anything other than a disaster for Sony is if you lower your expectations to where the PS3 would have been discontinued early on this console gen.A lot of these arguments, yours included, focus on how the Xbox 360 is such a bad console, that it's incomprehensible how the PS3 hasn't overtaken the sales lead, and because it hasn't, the PS3 is a failure.
The 360 may be my least favorite current gen console that I own, but I think it's far from a bad console...
