To the console gamers that can't afford a gaming PC, would you start PC gaming if you could afford a gaming PC or would you have also other reasons to not start PC gaming?

Let me just remind you that console games are more expensive than pc games ! I've got a nice rig for work and gaming but i barely use it, the consoles provide more variaty in game genres !
I can afford one but my plate is already full with the consoles and handhelds I already have. I don't have the time or desire to mess around with a gaming desktop computer. To the console gamers that can't afford a gaming PC, would you start PC gaming if you could afford a gaming PC or would you have also other reasons to not start PC gaming?

This.
It's just a pain in the bottom.
You spend more time tinkering and updating and fixing software and hardware problems and viruses etc.
I won't deny though, the PC has a stellar game library.
PC gaming to me is not on the lvl as Consoles
PC gamings claim to fame that i hear most is 3rd party games look pretty ... and ... big deal
the PC exclusives are crap compared to Consoles ... anything worth a damn is going on a Console soon enough
i don't turn my car into a boat cuz it would be cool to float on water and drive ... i would buy a boat
follow ?!?
gaming first systems don't succumb to gaming systems as an option
we just let you take pleasure in thinking its something better cuz you paid more for something only to get a PS3 or 360 to put along side it
plus its irrelevant in America

Yeah there's no denying that there are great PC games, and the multiplats are superior. I just don't have time right now to mess with another new system, and I have a backlog of games that almost reach the ceiling.Sometime next gen I'll jump in to PC gaming.

Same here.
Is it so hard to understand that most console gamers can easily afford the PC,only don't want to,because they feel satisfied with the experience availible on their consoles? :?
Platform choice is subjective, while PC arguably has many "objective" advantages,in the end,you still pick your favourite gaming system by finding the one that personally suits you best...

You're overexaggerating about that...
Ofcoure they would, it plays most of their games with much better gfx, performance, and sometimes amazing mods...with 3x more exclusives than any single system.
The problem is most consolites's parents will not give them money for a good PC, just a crumby console.
They are so jelly.
Can't type properly. Uses a picture of himself for an avatar. Is stupid. Typical consolite spotted.PC gaming to me is not on the lvl as Consoles

Do you really think its THAT difficult to maintain a gaming PC? It's no harder than maintaining any other personal computer. And if you have to spend way more time to upkeep a computer than you spend doing productive things on it, than honestly you must just suck with technology in general.

i never get viruses
drivers automatically update
updates take 1/10 of the time versus PSN.
and if I'm feeling impatient I can move a game to my SSD to lower all the load times to about 1-2 seconds.
my ps3 requires more upkeep.
I have both a console and PC for gaming, and I couldn't be happier with the two together. ;)ShadowsDemon
Amen
Although I would like to get a 580 sometime down the road.

I already have a PC, but use it for work and when i game i want to do it in my living room and huge HDTV and sofa and relax
So, i dont game on PC because
1. I dont want a PC in my living room or using a mouse
2. Consoles have all PC games i want (Witcher 2 for example is on 360)
3. Consoles have 10x more games i want, since they have multiple exclusives and JRPGs that PC does not
.
In short, PC has zero exlusives i want, so i dont bother with it
I'm just not into PC games. I can afford one just fine.
Also I don't like the idea of playing console games on a PC.

You could use a standard gaming rig. to mainly play multiplats trough a console experience. You mearly need a cable to hook it up to your HDTV, and a gamepad to play those multiplats. Check my blog, as a example. Even if you're satisfying with these consoles, no one could possibly have a reason to deny himself better graphics, a fluid framerate, and infinite free content for the those games, if one can afford a gaming rig.

I use an Xbox 360 controller to place most of my multiplats on a 42" / Recliner. Your argument as always is terrible sh*t loosey
You probably need a PC for those MMORPGs and Strategy Games.
Consoles and Handhelds can easily fill in the rest.
It's not that I can't afford it. I'm just not interested in the games it has to offer.
Mods are nice, but nothing worth the money and I care even less about the better visuals.
You spend more time tinkering and updating and fixing software and hardware problems and viruses etc.GOGOGOGURTProof that you know nothing.

Same here. I only play with my consoles.
I would someday like to own a gaming PC, but for the time it just isn't logical for me; I bought all three consoles because I wanted Zelda, Halo, and God of War. From there, each library had enough that kept me around.
Also, I put my money towards a Mac. I do a lot of video-editing and I'm studying a bit of graphic design so I found a Mac was a great fit for me. So it just doesn't make sense for me to also have a PC solely for gaming.

what bout myself, i'd rather buy a new bass than a pc, my laptop works fine for what i need it and my 360 does what it does just fine aswell.
I could afford a PC but heres the kicker the last console my parents bout me was a PS2 in 2002, consoles since then i've bought myself (didnt plunge into this gen til 2008 strangely) i'd rather just spend the money elsewhere im more bothered bout fun than better performance of measuring my e-peen with better graphics.
thats just me though i just simply want to play games and have fun and thats all i will ever care bout really.
Startup cost isnt just a bit high...not if you want to play the latest games like BF3 without having to dumb down to infantry only 32 player maps. You can buy several consoles at minimum for the cost of even just a solid gaming PC. Your going to spend $1000-1500 minimum for a good gaming PC that will play the games in a manner that sets it apart from consoles. BF3 64 player maps on settings higher than console capabilities doesnt come with cheap PC gaming hardware. As for being cheaper in the long run, the new hit titles that people play on consoles wont be much cheaper if at all on PC. By the time any savings actually add up, you will be spending more money to upgrade your graphics card, or some other component to keep your gaming PC current. Its the old games and indie games on Steam that provide the bulk of any savings worth measuring. If you can "afford" console gaming there is no reason you can't afford PC gaming, the start up cost is a bit high but in the long run PC gaming is actually cheaper.

Some people just can't justify the price of it. They can afford it but probably feel their money could go to better use. Also anyone looking to buy a next gen console on day 1 will be more inclined to keep money for that than get a PC.
I personally love PC gaming now and feel totally justified in the purchase but it's easy to understand why some don't

Yay,finally someone who gets it :)
PC Gamers suckGioVela2010
But PC gaming doesn't. Try connecting a decent gaming PC (doesn't need to be the latest hardware even) to a 50 inch plasma and enjoy true 1080p, 60 fps gaming with a 360 pad.
[QUOTE="mems_1224"]i just got a gaming pc and it was probably a mistake. i already had a huge backlog on console games...now i have even more games i want to play and not enough time.....f***ing steam lollundy86_4
