That starfox game on the ds that uses all stylus controls.
I played it for about an hour before I took it back. The shelves had 8 or 9 copies of it too, should have read the writing on the wall.

I'm havinga hard time with this, the only real game that I hated was GTA IV. I remember playing SA a bit before playing IV, and other than pretty graphics, the game felt shallow. The only other game I hated was Warhammer online. I bought it becasue I wanted Warhammer Online, not World of Warhammer which it turned out to be.
[QUOTE="spookykid143"]Oh yeah, and it´s bad. At least I got it for free. It's not that bad. I really enjoyed it despite its obvious flaws. But I also enjoyed the Lost game. So yeah...There was a prison break game?

I played a lot and I mean a lot of boring game this gen, but final fantasy XIII has to be the most painful one since it's my favourite series. also I think it's the only game I was more annoyd when i finished it then when I was playing
I haven't played games this gen that I absoultely hated. I tend to avoid games that got really bad reviews. I guess I'll go with Nights: Journey of Dreams. It's not horrible but I thought it was a huge disappointment. Luckily the game played well with a GC controller.
Dragon Age Origins is not only the worst game I played this gen, but also the most disappointing. For everything it does right, it does something terribly wrong.
There are so many good games in this thread.
Should've just called it "most overrated games" .Responses are pretty much the same.Lto_thaG
Problem is that most of us do our best to avoid the completely terrible games. I have Rogue Warrior for instance (got it from the Bethesda pack on steam), but I have never played it.
It's just another "I'm cool because I hate popular games" thread. Of course not everybody has to like them but they can't possibly be the worst unless you've only played 2 games this gen.some of the games you guys have mentioned are really good.. whats going on?
mooooo99
Best example.Uncharted 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Gears Of War, Halo 3...
Edit: Oh and Red Dead redemtionlasseeb

Deadly Premonition. Tried it after all the ball washing it gets from forums. Crap game is crap. The writing, no matter how witty cannot make up for the poor ass combat that would have sucked on the PS1. SO glad that was was rented. Even the discounted price would have pissed me off had I payed for it.\
The fact that turd got a 7, and Duke got 3.5 is enough for me to scratch the hell out of my had. If Duke is a 3, the DP owes me some effing points. Not saying Duke was good or anything, but at least I could finish that.

The game is a joke, thats the catch.
So that makes it ok? The game is supposed to suck. Got it. So I should like it because it's supposed to suck and succeeds? And you imply I'm stupid...
for a game that does so much wrong, it also successfully does something other games don't even attempt to do. Even though the gameplay is crap, it's like a modern day shenmue. It's like a B movie popcorn flick. the gameplay is so bad, but everything about the game is so intruiging that it's hard to put down (well...not so much in your case). The story is creepy, yet hilarious much like David Lynch's "Twin Peaks". With the exception of that TV series, it has a truly unique story line and will keep you guessing until the end. It does a very good job of not leaving any plot holes behind too. Games like LA Noire would have been so much better if they offered the type of seemless world that deadly premonition offers.
It's seriously not a big deal that you think it's the worst game you've played this gen, because many people will think the same thing. The only reasons I'm giving you my insight to why the game is incredible is just so you can understand why people actually enjoy this game.
I'm into Sonic and of course, since I have a wii I was all over how cheap Sonic and the Secret Rings was, I didn't care about the story, I just wanted to play a game with everyone's favorite blue ball of speed.
This game was the absolute WORST Sonic game I have EVER played. The controls were about as sloppy as a sloppy-joe, I moved the wiimote VERY far to the left and Sonic just kept running straight ahead and jumped into an ocean, never even moving an INCH back to the left. I know Sonic games are usually bad, but Secret Rings was unforgiveable. I've gotta get colors if I want something good...
FarCry 2. This is by far the worst game this generation & it is also one of the worst in the history of gaming. I think I played FarCry 2 for about two hours & it rubbed me in all the wrong ways. I seriously can't think of one mediocre aspect of the game: everything about it is beyond abysmal & I do mean EVERYTHING.
Noooo. I was saving up to buy that game, now my hopes are crushed. As for the worst big budget games i've played this gen; its between Black ops and devil may cry 4. Both of these games have horrible stories and level design and are easily the worst in the series. Dmc2 might be worse than dmc4 though.Star Ocean: The Last Hope. A lifeless, boring game with terrible characters and a horrendous story. The only redeeming part was the battle system, but that got repetitive and boring as well. I refused to finish the game and recently sold it to some poor sap on Ebay... who emailed me a few days after the auction telling me the game sucked.
yokofox33
some games I disliked a lot are
Viking Battle for Asgard, the gameplay felt shallow and the map was pretty unintuitive, the one good thing the massive battles.
Ninja Gaiden II, the combat was alright but the camera, and the fight 200 demons at the same time got me doing the same over and over
NBA Street Homecourt,I was a big fan of NBA Street V3 and Homecourt was dumbed down simplistic and lost all the charm of the series
Unreal Tournament III, with a campaign that is composed of multiplayer both matches.....
popualr games I dislike
GTA IV, the game felt too slow paced and serious for my taste, there was less exploring that other GTA games, Nico was the female dog of every single character, the cell phone calls, I dont like getting pressured in games like "hey come to play darts (in the middle of a mission of course) or I will dislike you" oh yeah and no checkpoint in the missions if you die you have to drive to the mission place every single time.
Im going with backbreaker..........MY GOD that game sucked sooo hard it should go in a dictionary right next to FAILURE......
I too spent real, hard earned money on two worlds, albeit $5. I still cry myself to sleep.
Does the Duke Nukem Forever demo count? It was horribad.
Crisis Core: Easy difficulty and boring gameplay. Smash X throughout the whole game and get interrupted by the DMW reel every three seconds during a boss fight. Let's not forget the awful writing.
The 3rd Birthday: Yuck! Shooting mechanics are average, but the gameplay ends up being a mess due to terrible controls, poor design choices, lack of enemy variety, repetitiveness, absurb health/defense from bosses, tedious boss fights like The Queen and a wonky camera. Top it off with bland characters with no development and one of the worst stories ever told.
Star Ocean 4: Awful characters with annoying personality and dreadful voice acting, poor dialogue, awkward animations and the battle system gets boring after a while. I stopped after 15 hours or so.
Heavy Rain, it isn't a even a ****ing video game. QTEs do not make something a game, nor do plot holes that ruin a game entirely based around the plot.
I love how on these types of threads most of the responses are really critically acclaimed games or generally games seen as very good by everyone else, which they didn't really like, so they go over the top hyperbole and call it the worst ever. Games like Fallout 3, Oblivion, Mass Effect, Gears of War, Little Big Planet, The Orange Box hell, even Call of Duty, really shouldn't be here under any circumstances. At least not if you've played Two Worlds or Need for Speed Pro Street :pTheOtherTheoGYeah, but people don't just go to the store looking to pick up some crappy games. It makes sense that in most cases, the worst game somebody has played was a critically acclaimed game, especially on a site that rates games.
Modern Warfare 2 for thw PC. What a horrible, pathetic excuse for a PC game. It's obvious that IW designed this game as a cash-in on the console brogamer scene. No dedicated servers, glitches and bugs running rampant, non-stop lag, horrible map design, inbalanced weapons, I could go on and on and on about how much that game sucked. I might reinstall it just to finish the campaign, but I have little to no interest in doing so right now.
Sonic Unleashed is also a really terrible game. I got it for PS2, couldn't finish it out of sheer frustration due to the unbelievably bad controls/gameplay/characters.
Of course, this is just taking major profile games into account while excluding games (such as Damnation and Anubis) that I knew would be bad but played anyway for laughs.
Red Steel (I sold it after a month but I only played it 45 minutes.) I waited a month because I forgot all about it until I found it and sold it.
I don't know about worst game, I have a few I really just hate either because I can't play them or just simply do not like them for the gamplay etc, if I had to pick one though I'd have to say either Alpha Protocol or Mercenaries 2. If I am choosing one I don't own then probably Duke Nukem would be one of the games I'd say was the worst.
Mass Effect. Highly rated among critics, and the worst game I've played this gen.Mr_CumberdaleI wouldn't say worst, but ME2 really felt meh to me (i haven't even finished it yet I wa sso bored).
GTA4 and I dont care if you dont believe me... that "game" sucked worse than i can describe. I want to personallly find the person who thought putting the cell phone in the game and designing it to function like that and ending their miserable life.
Lost Planet... The only game Ive played this gen and thought more than once, "what is the point of all this".
[QUOTE="Mr_Cumberdale"]Mass Effect. Highly rated among critics, and the worst game I've played this gen.lordreavenI wouldn't say worst, but ME2 really felt meh to me (i haven't even finished it yet I wa sso bored). sigh.... how? wha? i just dont know what to say... different strokes I guess.
I am happy to say that I don't really regret playing any game this gen. I've been pretty much satisfied with most of my purchases. Even ones that aren't good, I didn't mind playing them. Although, I wanted Assassin's creed to end earlier than it did so I could go on to play the second one.
[QUOTE="lordreaven"][QUOTE="Mr_Cumberdale"]Mass Effect. Different strokes for different folks, I hate Mass Effect series as well. Just as I dislike Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Dragon Age series. Not that I am against WRPGs, I loved Witcher 1+2, Fallout: New Vegas, Mount and Blade, Eschalon Book 1+2, NWN2: MotB, Risen, Drakensang: River of Time and Depths of Peril.
With that said, I can understand why people like Mass Effect, it is just that cover based shooters dont appeal to me whatsoever.
