You gave me Neo. How is Neo like Dante? They both use guns? One is a chosen one that came from an egg/breeding bulb thing and Dante is a guy with Demon powers. Nothing alike. Thats like saying MC is like Captain Price ebcause they both are in the military and they both use guns.

It's truly sad, what they did to our cheesy hero.. I'm not touching that game with a 10 foot pole, they already made the perfect DMC (3), they could have just remade it. Hopefully this will be like New Coke, just release a garbage game, ruin it's name.. then somehow think that they'll be able to reboot with Coke Classic.

take seriously what? Son... What are you talking about? The DMC series is all about stylish combat, over the top action and cheesy story. With the reboot their new approach is to be more realistic and cinematic, how many times have we heard that exact same statement through this gen? Just look at the trailer, the guy's being tortured or something while being asked what his name is to what he responds "my name's Dante!". The hell? Where are my demon's, the parties getting crazy, the highly sexualized women and other stuff that makes DMC, DMC?

But like TC said, what I fear the most is the gameplay changes. DMC games always play smooth with its 60fps but when was the last time a game made on UE3 ran higher than 30? We need to make this game to flop so buy used, rent or whatever but try to not buy new! :twisted:

Capcom mentions in the link they will be handling the combat system in the upcoming DMC but that doesn't make sense for the reason I mentioned below.

Capcom have hired a whole new studio to create the upcoming game. Now if they(Capcom) wanted to do the hard job like gameplay mechanics themselves then they would have just hired a western writer/ graphics artist or two for DMC, but no they contracted a whole new studio that MAKES games. What this means is that Capcom is just feeding us crap so we would shut up about the fact that they are dumbing down the franchise.

I reckon Capcom didn't anticipate the back lash and are being ignorant towards the fans. Nothing in DmC looks remotely recognisable as DMC and yet they are stupid enough to say it will be the best title in the franchise. And my biggest problem is the fact they are creating DmC on the unreal engine so expect the game to not play as smoothly and stylishly as the series has been known for. I don't care what crap Capcom spreads but the facts speak for themselves, and they say that DmC has strong chance at being worse than DMC2.

Im done with CAPCOM, I will no longer support them.

Neo doesn't use melee weapons. You completely lost me when you compared the two.... yes they both were trench coats and use guns but that doesn't define the character.

Well, so far, the only Capcom games that I bought on the 360 so far are DMC IV, Bionic Commando: Rearmed 1 & 2, Mega Man 9 & 10, SSFIV, MvC 3, & I'm also thinking of buying SF x Tekken.

Those are good games from Capcom so far in this gen, IMO.

I couldn't care less about what Dante looks like now. The only thing I have a problem with is that Ninja Theory is developing this and from what I played of Heavenly sword and Enslaved, I don't think NT has what it takes to pull the style of combat DMC is known for.

I have nothing against developers spicing up a franchise, but at least try to make it right or mildly interesting, because as of now, I haven't witnessed anything to be bumped about. I will wait until they show gameplay, because quality gameplay is really the only thing the series needs to keep in check.

Ninja Theory are quality developers, but I'm still not sure in regards to this project. Not because I find that they don't have the talent, but simply because developers have some areas that they excel at and a particular style. I always take these sorts of situations with some skepticism, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, because situations like this have happened before and some of them worked out for the better.

On the other hand, I'm not that worried to be honest, I've always enjoyed the series, but I too think that a new spark here and there wouldn't kill it. Again though, as of now, I'm not interested or impressed at all at what I've seen.

I know lol, it seems Capcom have devolved as developers. And if they cared about the metacritic score so much they wouldn't have asked Ninja Theory to make the game since their past two efforts have barely made it as 80+ scoring games. GGrr! :x I have half a mind to just boycott ALL upcoming Capcom games. Seriously who are they kidding? They want to make DmC for the fans and yet they're completely ignorant to the fact that the upcoming DMC game has no redeemable qualities of a DMC game.

Lets look at the facts:

1. The character looks plain bad, just a bad design.
2. He looks nothing like Dante, hair and facial structure.
3. It's an an origin story and yet DMC3 already explained the most important aspects about Dante; His demon powers, problems with his brother and beginning of the DMC shop.
4. The game is touted as being more realistic and dark, you know what that means? Forget the stylish combat and expect a Heavenly Sword 2 or worse type gameplay system.
5. The dev at Ninja Theory thinks original Dante is lame and uncool and that DMC is outdated. The devs they asked to make a new DMC don't even understand the purpose of DMC!

OK, The type of game DmC is unsuited for such an engine, expect the game to run at 30FPS and less with slowdown and glitches the likes of you have never seen before!

CRAPCOM, you suck! As a Dmc fan I am insulted that they are being so extremely ignorant.

Definitely a good point, and i'm not going to argue that, however, i think is also valid to dislike a desing, i mean, what's the point to play a game where the main character don't appeal to you at all and you even feel betrayed because they changed one of your favorite characters, the gameplay may be good, but honestly and as a huge DMC and Hack and Slash fan, this game doesn't appeal to me at all.

People hate because its not some Roid-Rage Dude with a Chainsaw for a Arm.

Heres a example of that character....

Bayonetta as a character was brilliant in cmparison to all these roid-raged Geezers which we see much in Hack and Slashes. Saying that though Jack as a character in Mad World is cool and quirky, Kinda reminds you of those 80's movie cliches.
