An End the Crappy Wii graphics debates.

this is just the beginning of it. look at sonic. the 1st built from the ground up wii game. mario galaxy will be 60 fps and look better than anything on gc, xbox, ps2.

and that last one was for fun

isn't that screenshot from shrek the third? a game that is a movie game (developers don't care about movie game graphics) that hasn't even been released yet? i mean it looks like shrek.

Why on earth spend actually development time on a game that you know your just putting out to a sucker audiance that will slurp it up cause the next Nintendo game is like 6-8 months away, and the Wii owners will have no choice.

It was the same thing with the GC, so prepare for more crap 3rd party games with crap graphics, and 1st party games that look "meh" compared to next gen games, and expect 1 of them every 6-8 months. Soooo freaking glad I sold my Wii.

You can't defend something that was intentionally designed as a cheap gimmicy alternative. The hardware of Wii cannot dream of facilitating a forth of the games on the market, yet alone even dream of being able to process some of the DX10 stuff that will come out over the next few years. SSBB looks good, in the sense that it doesn't take anything away. I get the vibe from alot of people here that they can't play a game that doesn't have all the pixel shader reflexction shader crystal hi def stuff you were talking about. Do you like SSB? Cause me and my friends still play melee and it hasn't become inplayable.

 There is nothing wrong with playing it, but I suggest not posting pics of it in a graphical debate, knowing the competition. I never invade a thread when SSB gameplay is discussed, because people would argue forever which is fun and not fun. But in a graphical debate, no, I dont think Wii even holds standards set by gamecube sometimes. Now that is what is being made fun of. Keep in mind I have a DS, so yes, I can play a game without shaders and fancy effects. But the DS and Xbox 360 have a reasonable output of games that sticks with their standards. Xbox 360 games continue to look like Xbox 360 games, and same for DS. But Wii is the outcast here, it produces some of the most hilariously bad, below-standard graphics that I've seen. When you have a system that produces games worse-looking than its predecessor, maybe it's time to rethink some things. I mean did PS2 launch games look like PS1? No. Did N64 games look like SNES games? No. But does some Wii games look like Gamcube games. unfortunately yes Dont get mad at me, get mad at iwata and his band of merry men, they made the darn thing

The only reasonable explanation is that developers have never used motion sensing controls before. Not only are they being pushed to make it for the launch window, but they have to figure out how to make the controls work. If your a developer, you have two options, have the game unplayable because they didn't focus on the controls, or having it look slightly last gen in graphics.

They probly spent most of their developing time, tuning the controls. Which in the end still wasn't perfect (Red Steel). The only developer who has the controls down is Nintendo. That's why the beswt looking and best playing games are Metroid, Mario and SSBB.

Like many people hate to hear over and over but I have to say it...we will have to wait and see.

If you even think that Mario Galaxy looks good for the Wii, or Resident Evil 4, times that by 2 and you have a really good looking game.

Read the link, read all the evidence that the Wii's graphics won't suck and realize that Sonic and the Secret Rings and SSX Blur are the only available titles that actually use the Wii and not GC hardware.

The Wii has a long way to go but i think its already making up some ground with its competitors.

And if the Wii outsold the 360 and PS3 would it still be considered a compliment system?
