Well he might have a point if we are going by straight gameplay differences. From what I have seen of the Last of Us (please link me a video if I am completely wrong) is that its quite a cross between an action/survivor and heavy rain which was a action button sequence game. A video I saw, the last of us had "aim to lock on" to enemies which already takes a skill away. Plus if you look at pokemons game mechanics and the underlying stratergy thats involved which can be proven by the fact there are rather large pokemon tournaments and I cant see there being a last of us tournament anytime soon... that Pokemon on the premis of gameplay purely = the better game, then yes POKEMON IS BETTER.[QUOTE="backtowar"][QUOTE="Davekeeh"]

I've been interested since those "viral" ads ans so far everything looks to be shaping up nicely. I really think I'll end up enjoying it.
.. but the good thing is. Even if this game flops to hell there will still be entertainment provided by butthurt cows in the form of conspiracy theories, claims of bias and all other kinds of other delicious DC.
Its a win/win either way.
I know it will be good but i think its too movie based. I wanna actually play most on the game.

sounds like this game is probably going to flop.
The Amount of Hype Cows are giving this is too dang high.

It's the simplicity of Pokemon that makes the game accessible, the underlying skill is what keeps you playing. Who gives a crap if the game is immersive or not, at least it's not a generic TPS, where all you do is shoot and watch cutscenes. Pokemon may not be complex but thats because it doesn't need to be. The Last of Us, to me, doesn't look like anything special at all. It will get 8.5 here on Gamespot, quote me on that.
I've allready told gamespot to not use McShea for this review. And Im sure they want to avoid the embarrasing Infamous 2 insident repeated. So little risk of that happening.I really hope this game delivers. I've been interested since those "viral" ads ans so far everything looks to be shaping up nicely. I do. If a game sucks me in so much that everything around me doesn't exist anymore it means it's an awesome game. If you think The Last of Us is just another generic TPS you clearly know nothing about the game. The underlying skill of pokémon games keep you playing? There is absolutely no skill involved in those games give me a break LOL. Games like Tetris require skill, Pokemon games are for 10 year olds.

Yes because catching a pokémon takes so much skill LOL
And yes Pokémon strategy is so hard to figure out, water beats fire, fire beats grass, grass beats water LOL
Poor Sheep, get lost with your kiddy games LOL, The Last of Us is an immersive experience, catching Pokémon on a gameboy is not.Davekeeh

Please feel free to add to your argument by actually stating what makes the Last of Us unique. Also Pokemon doesn't require skill ? Try fighting Lance in Gold/Silver, There is a level of strategy required for that and many other fights that I can't think of off the top of my head. It's clear that you are only 13 or 14 years old and that you are "too old for pokemon" now. Anyway have fun shooting hobos and playing a game that is essentially Uncharted without the ability to jump.
[QUOTE="skrat_01"] Man shooting man in face. Man hiding leading to man on man melee fighting. Man holding gun to another man's head then using as bullet shield. The gameplay is largely unremarkably similar to plenty of other game before it; the most interesting thing gameplay wise about The Last of Us is the a.i. partner and the apparent survival bent gameplay (harder enemies to kill, scavenging etc.). It's still an action game focused on production values and what seems to be a rigid representation of story. Which isn't a bad thing, it's just not what I'd call outstanding. Interesting nonetheless. tormentosI agree in some parts while some of this things have been done before, never have they been so realistic, that part where he blow half the face of an enemy was disturbing,i don't think this game will get a rating for under 17.. Is how realistic everything is portrait in the game,is the reason why in DF analysis speak nothing but great things about the game, how when you are holding a hostage you can feel the desperation, look at how the enemy actually recognize been pointed with a gun and try to cover with the sofa, unlike other games like Halo that enemies will randomly will trow them self were ever. LOL.
Soldier of Fortune did that, like, 12 years ago.

You're in high school dude. You havd no experience working as an anayst.
I never said I was working.
I analyze the industry everytime I'm on GameSpot.
A teenager who thinks they know everything what a surpriseLOL.Do i even have to post a video of that game compare to the last of us.? There is a difference between a brutal kill which had been done even on Resident Evil were you blow enemies head off with the magnum or shotgun, and what the last of us is doing,if you can see that well you are a blinder lemming than i taught. Soldier of Fortune is a FPS run an gun game full of gore, but even Resident Evil did that on PS1 before it,blowing a head on Resident Evil was fun so was in soldiers of fortune and dismembering people because the violence was basically cartoon like, run a gun down every one down,in this game the filling is way different is not a FPS run a gun game, and the kills are disturbing to say the least.Soldier of Fortune did that, like, 12 years ago.

I love how people pretend that this game is very scripted vs another games, when all are scripted... Funny Uncharted 2 is higher rated that any game this gen besides SMG1 and 2 on wii... That say allot about how generic and scripted is.. By the way are you jelly.?If it's going to be as generic and horribly scripted as Uncharted then hell naw.

Some trivia for fans of this project:
Around 2008-9, Crytek was working on a game with a similar concept - a 3rd person action game with a dude and a little girl as the main characters. It was called Redemption and the girl was called Jelena. She and bits and pieces of levels can still be found in tech demos and the CE3 sandbox. I bet someone at EA is feeling pretty stupid about cancelling it.
The cherry on top: the artist who made this went to Naughty Dog and is now working on The Last of Us:lol:
The only thing that's ruining TLOU is the fvcking sony fanboys. And the fans of the game in general. Here is a game coming along that could be very unique and do very very well and be a benchmark in storytelling, AI and character interaction but instead of actually talking about this people resort to their regular BS of ownage and it's the best game ever made. Even without provocation SOny fans just go nuts talking crap anyway.
I know this is SW and bla bla bla but still I wish a day could come when people would actually talk about this games merits and it's flaws from what we've seen and heard so far objectively rather than just sucking at the teet of ND and saying it's ownage over anything they release about it. Yes the game will be good, it's not gonna be perfect but it will be an excellent test in story telling and pacing. And this is coming from a guy who doesn't even have a PS3 to play it.
Sony fans should be proud they get to play it but you guys only have yourselves to blame if it flops and you can blame yourselves for any negativity towards it ebcause you're the ones causing it. People hate sony fanboy cows and how they act towards this game, they don't hate the game itself

That's pretty funny :P Although I would much prefer ND to make it as they're better story tellers. Crytek would ruin it somehow
He design arts for games.. So if your point was trying to say that the game is Crytecs Redemption you fail. Some trivia for fans of this project:

Dude please at least look at lemming first before pinging it all on sony fans, some people jump on this thread on the very first page taking crap about the game,if anything a sony fan make a thread about a game from sony (shocker there) which he thinks would be the game of the century he (personal opinion) and several lemmings (the usual) started tagging the game as bad or scripted and crap like that. Stop single out sony fans dude. The only thing that's ruining TLOU is the fvcking sony fanboys. And the fans of the game in general. you know, sometimes I wish a game wasn't exclusive because you got immature kids and if they are olders its even sadder who want to see a game fail just because its on another system they don't favor.
Exactly.. The best part is when they say the game suck,is scripted and compare it with Uncharted without having playing a minute of the game, and when what has been show is a 360 turn from Uncharted.you know, sometimes I wish a game wasn't exclusive because you got immature kids and if they are olders its even sadder who want to see a game fail just because its on another system they don't favor.
