Analyst says: The Last of Us is looking to be "Game of the Century"

This games looks like it could be a lot of fun, and made by some elite devs, what exactly is the problem some people seem to have with this game?FIipMode

They're really hitting all the right points with The Last of Us, it can turn out to be Naughty Dogs next "Uncharted 2". But there'll be lots of competition in 2013 with Bioshock: Infinite, Watch Dogs, and potentially GTA V.

Generally speaking yeah they were. Shouldn't take anyone more than 8 hours to see the bulk of the content. To get perfect it should take about double the time though (I admitedly 100% CB2 in about 12-14 hours so it varies)

As someone who has played a crash bandicoot game a new title shouldn't take more than 8 hours. Stuff like Relics and Gems were really just ways for ND do lengthen the games because there wasn't that much content. I love me some CB though. Wish ND could make another.

I hope it turns out like Uncharted 2. Even though Uncharted 1 and 3 were 8-12 hours long, I clocked ~21 hours every Uncharted 2 playthrough. That's the perfect length, since there is no multiplayer I can easily see it clocking around 20 hours if they do it right.

I always played on Hard or Crushing difficulty, and took my time through each level enjoying the game. I don't know how, I just did. Even if you didn't spend as much time completing it as I did, Uncharted 2 still felt more like an adventure than any of the other Uncharted games (IMO).

Anyway, the Jak series was longer and only Uncharted 3 was in the 8 hour range for your first playthrough, Uncharted 1 was around 10-ish and Uncharted 2 was around 12-ish. Obviously, if you had played the previous games it could be even faster, and your second playthroughs were even faster.

So claiming already that this game will be only 8 hours long is silly. I'm not saying that it won't be (it could easily be) but all the news about the game indicate that it will likely be longer, since they are making the SP their number one focus.

So like I said before, until someone actually plays it "common sense" won't do anything for me, since for all WE know it can be a 5 hours game or a 20 hours game.

What they're doing with The Last of Us isn't anything groundbreaking.

Making an enemy yell "please don't" when you point a gun at their face isn't groundbreaking.

Considering Co-op was the focus of RE5 I understand in general why it was shorter. If you get the Gold edition with the 2 extra chapters there is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours extra content with some relevant gameplay. Still need to pick it up myself actually. RE6 has me worried though, it looks a lot worse than RE5 graphically. I personally really like RE5 as a co op game so I'm hoping RE6 doesn't disappoint.

Just saying though, this game better not pull an Uncharted 3 :P.

Im glad some people actually realise how Uncharted 3 was a let down. U2 was excellent but U3 felt very flat to me.

This game looks great, it's from the Naughty Gods themselves, it has the whole package.

The graphics are very good (as proven by digital foundry), and they'll only get better in the coming months.

The gameplay is leagues better than Uncharted, they're doing very interesting things with the game.

The voice acting is top notch.

The animation is some of the best we've seen in the past 300 years.

And most of all, the interaction between the characters will be where the money's at.

The Last of Us is a complete singleplayer experience, it's going to be lengthy, and frankly I'm 100% excited to see 3 years of Naughty Gods finest work. The Last of Us looks like it just may be the Game of the Century.

Truth. Some people just think the game's had to naturally get better. I think some of them just say 3 is best cos of the numerical order. But to me U2 will always be the pinnacle I think
