There is a difference between pointing out flaws in a game and openly hating a game (saying it sucks). Even if you aren't a fan of the genera and not a big fan of story telling in games, as a self respecting gamer you have to give MGS4 it's credit.

I would say GTA4, maybe Fallout 3, Fable 2, there are alot of games that had some awesome action gameplay. MGS4 was all about getting you suck it in with cut scenes and that takes away from what we need to be concentrating on here and that is game play.

Interestingly, I hate it primarily because of its storytelling not being good enough. But that's not the point here.

I may think it's a great, but not earth-shatteringly excellent game, or I may think that MGS4 is terrible. Either way, if I don't agree with Gamespot's logic for awarding MGS4 a 10 and a GOTY award, how will the game earning those awards "own" me? Was its quality, as perceived by the site, somehow in doubt?

Yeah stop wishing for MGS4, it would just bring down the Xbox 360 game library.

I have to tell I'm a little pissed off at GS for making this game sound like the second coming or something, truth of the matter its not that great and that is very dissappointing.

did Fallout 3, GTA4 or Fable 2 gave some incredible cinematic like MGS4? MGS4 was so much entertaining because they told you the story like a real movie or something like that and when the story scenes ends you take control of that same scene with Snake dierctly after, it was an amazing experience mixing the two aspects of the game.

I want to play a game not watch a game, look I understand you need some cut scenes to convey story but no 30 min or longer cut scenes that's just wrong in my book. And that is what I think GS got caught up in and the install screens for each chapter even after installing the game is far from being immersing.

I don't think I'm offended, really. It just doesn't serve any purpose at this stage. It wouldn't make a difference to the haters. If someone disagrees or hates, they'll continue to feel that way no matter what some website says about it.

There hasn't been a single game this generation without cliche. Also, there hasn't been a single game this generation with an original idea. At least MGS4 offers a totally immersive gaming experience in the single player campaign, and to be honest, I've never seen a game or book with a story even remotely similar. It's hard to be cliche when you are the original. You seem like the type of person that is unable to settle down and focus, so you'd probably like FPS shooters more, because the run-and-gun environments will appeal to your need for face-paced action.
