they are all great games including MGS4, just because it won some awards doesn't mean the other games were crap.

the game was awesome, both types of entertainment were top-notch, the story and the gameplay.

did Fallout 3, GTA4 or Fable 2 gave some incredible cinematic like MGS4? MGS4 was so much entertaining because they told you the story like a real movie or something like that and when the story scenes ends you take control of that same scene with Snake dierctly after, it was an amazing experience mixing the two aspects of the game.

I want to play a game not watch a game, look I understand you need some cut scenes to convey story but no 30 min or longer cut scenes that's just wrong in my book. And that is what I think GS got caught up in and the install screens for each chapter even after installing the game is far from being immersing.

Again I wished I loved it, but it was very mediocre and cliche ridden.

And the game is no where near mediocre and cliche, could you explain on what you just said more?

And where did you get this impression from? I thought there was gameplay correct me if I was wrong.

To be honest I thought MGS4 had the better story,but thats only because Iv been on bord since MGS1 so I understand everything.

You know I wouldint mind if GTA4 won or fallout 3 won,but I wouldint agree on fable2. The story sucks and its short. THe characters are lame and gotten rid of really really fast and not even all the sidequest are interesting. The gameplay was fun,but being half an RPG it sucked it some pretty important categories. Also the last boss was ultra mega lame and anti climatic. I was like WTF that was IT!

MGS series is not mainstream. If anything GTA is the mainstream one. Iv heard the VO in tales nothing mind blowing either. Not going to judge the story because I never beat the game. Did you beat MGS4 to really have rights to judge the story?

Who's crying? I got the game right here and I'm telling you that its 8.5 game really but VanOrd got all nostalgic and over rated, why can't you see that.

But yeah with the PS3 library what it is I can see why you would think its great.

Then they all must lack common sense or something. It's pretty obvious to anyone that knows how to properly think that Crysis Warhead has far superior "technical graphics". I guess the current state of video game journalism is on its way down the tubes.

Im not going in for a debate, Im just stopping by but I wanted to say that technial isnt only textures....which is probably what you mean when mentioning crysis. Although crysis rips a hole in mgs4's graphics, animations, framerate, preformance and more are also technical which is why mgs4 won that. Doesnt matter if people disagree.

Iv played and beat the game and yes you still dont have the right. MGS4 is part of a series If you have yet to play the games and experiance stories of 1-3 its really unfair to judge the story. You wont really understand it and no impact will be had. Tales is different as such each game is thier own thing. Besides that one tales game for the wii. Again I wont fully judge tales story because I dont know every little detail of the TOV world and characters that are in it.

Anyone know when MGSTouch will come out? I'm going to celebrate by getting that app for my iphone.

I kinda agree. Not that MGS4 has bad voice acting but for every good one, theres a bad one (voice actor that is).

This is a movie, not a game. if you think this is a game you are blind with japanese fanboyish love.

The level of cutscenes is very high, almost 90% of the game if not more. the level of interactivity is LOW. And the funny thing is this goes for EVERY metal gear solid game.

I just don't see the point to these games. The story does absolutely NOTHING for me. Its way too over the top and overdramatic. This game obviously tries its hardest to be a movie at every possible point, but if you compared it with any current movie, its laughable at best. Also unless you have played MGS 1-3 multiple times and analyzed it with a fine tooth comb, theres no way you're going to understand 1 cutscene in this game.

its just my opinion but i believe games are more then just cutscenes
