i'm more curious to see if the gambling system gets exploited, and how fast it gets exploited. more than anything i want a system like that in a game where you can trust the leaderboards and have faith in the statistics.

I see your concern with the gambling system. But I think it's designed in a way where you wouldn't want to exploit it.
The only way I can see it being exploited is if:
1.) Two clans know each other or one clan separates into 2 clans
2.) One clan decides to purposely lose a match in order to give the other clan their VP.
Now, the problem with this is that when you lose a match you lose your gambled VP. The losing team doesn't stay on neutral ground. It's a complete negative for one clan and a complete positive for the other. In the end it will be like playing catch. Back and forward with no true progression.
Of course you could say that one clan will ONLY lose matches in order to benefit the other clan. But eventually the clan that loses on purpose will run out of VP to gamble (unlike Halo 3 if you are ranked low you can still help someone get a higher rank).
In the end it could just be too much of a hassle. Finding 16 people that would agree to do this would be frustrating on its own (besides who would want to make two clans and manage two 16 or 8 player teams in order to do this?). It's not like Halo 3 where just 2 people can exploit it. We will see though.
