Anyone else think Sony is really scared about the Xbox event?

Microsoft has their work cut out for them. They'd have to get a lot right to have the better show. It's tough being the underdog.

@Zero_epyon: Of course it was pre rendered you clown....look at the parts where Ratchet is shooting, no cursor. Look at they actual gameplay they released...theres a cursor and the "warp tunnel" takes about 3 seconds compared to less than a second at the showing.

Still about the best thing at the show which isn't saying much...but yes, it was prerendered.

Worst troll on the board, and that's saying something. MS will be fine, but they were lackadaisical at the end of the 360 gen and beginning of this gen. Sony had a solid showing, but definitely not perfect.

@SolidGame_basic: Even if Sony had the worst console reveal to date with the PS5, Microsoft would find a way to have a worse reveal for the XSX. They literally have no idea how to do a console reveal that doesn't suck.

@subspecies: The only thing Sony should be afraid of is Microsofts console reveals putting people off of gaming entirely.

Reveals should be pretty easy. Here's our console, this is what functionalities it has, here's our controller and here's the games that are scheduled to be released for said console.

Microsoft has a lot of money so this should be the easiest thing in the world for them to do. Instead it's like running across the Nevada desert without drinking water for them.

Thats why the bottom clip says 'captured on ps5", not "Ps5 gameplay".

Difference between the two shows is that ms showed 3rd party and indie games, with 1st party coming soon. Sony showed 1st party, indie and 3rd party.

Whether its pre-rendered or not, I am all over Ratchet and Clank. Too bad there was no released date.

Sony’s PlayStation event broke view records on youtube and over a million watched on the PS4 and you are trying to minimize it.

I don’t think they’re scared about the games but they are scared about Xbox Series X potentially being priced cheaper than the PS5. If Xbox is more powerful and $50-$100 lower, it will be catastrophic for PlayStation.

I could see MS taking huge loss on hardware to get as many active users in their ecosystem. They will make multiple game pass exclusives with heavy monetization schemes to make the money back in the long term. This will only work if they have a significant scale of users. The users will be more “sticky” and brand loyal as their game library and game pass will eventually be on a variety of devices not just Xbox and when cloud gaming eventually becomes reasonable for most people. (Not anytime soon)

Winning this gen is critical for MS. They are playing the long game.

A two minute in game cinematic announce trailer followed by a two minute long gameplay demo trailer and you're still crying. It's almost like you're a fanboy.

Yeah I'm not a fan of it but it would be nice to get at least a release window for these games.

I don't recall reading anything that indicates that it was a launch title. Anyone who knows the release date are free to share.

The difference with PlayStation show versus Xbox regarding gameplay, is that Xbox hyped the showing to be gameplay focused. That was their error. They should have known better especially when folks are looking for something to bitch about.

Exactly. And that's what they eventually apologized for. Sony made no such error and people walked away pretty hyped for next gen. MS needs to demonstrate that they have the goods for next gen with their showing. They have more to prove than Sony.

Sony for the most part has been delivering on the visual front in the current gen and going forward. It's not the PS3 era anymore.

The PS5 reveal last month was ok. Nothing really stood out aside from Horizon. The rest was just a bunch of weird kid games. Definitely no system sellers.
