Apple have finally lifted the lid on the device and most of the rumours proved to be true.

"The new iPad will sport a Retina Display, boasting a 2045x1536 resolution, 3.2 million pixels, and 264ppi,a dual-core A5X CPU along with a quad-core GPU has been included, upgrading from the A5,As far as connectivity is concerned, Apple's tablet has raised the bar and will be 4G LTE compatible."

I mean that the tablet is the evolution of the laptop.

Of course there are still pros for the laptop, such as gaming / bigger screen / real keyboard, but overall the tablet is the future "portable PC" if you will, imo.

And for the price of an iPad 3 you could get a pretty decent PC to play far better games at far better quality.

i think we are really going to start seeing a trend of using duel and quad GPU's in systems as it means less heat than an insanely overclocked gpu. just like how cpu's hit a ghz wall in 2004-2005 graphics cards will eventually hit that as well it hasn't happened yet though. around 2014 when nvidia releases Maxwell we might see the last great graphics cards before they move onto more cores as standard. has me thinking the rumor about Xbox 3 using duel gpu's might be true.
