[QUOTE="tomarlyn"]I have a smartphone and they're like apples and oranges to me for usage. I only take my iPad out if I'm going on a flight.AdrianWerner

THe problem is, I can do on phone eveyrthing I can on a tablet. The fact that some of those are more convienient on a pad isn't reason enough to carry that damn think with me. Maybe other people find specific uses for it on the go, but for me it's just pointless device.

I'm no student and don't have a job that requires computer access on the go so it all depends on different people's needs. If I did a LOT of serious typing on the move then I'd need a laptop, or a hybrid at least.

HOLY CRAP.. those specs are amazing!

First of all.. 2000x1500p res.. which is like 3 x of 720p.. or 1366x768 like the iPad 2

Secondly.. vastly improved video camera / photo camera ..

third: finally got 4G

fourth: vastly improved CPU

fifth: vastly improved GPU

yet some people think its the same as iPad 2... Wow.

Hardly the upgrade to keep up with what the competition is bringing this year. From a software standpoint, Apple has to compete with Windows 8 and Android. When it comes to hardware, Adreno 3xx is coming out along with Qualcomm's dual core and quad core Krait. There will be the T33 version of Tegra 3, and later in the year Tegra 4. ARM's Cortex A15 is also set for launch this year. The increase of 28nm chips will allow for greater performance, longer battery life and less heat. Not to forget the other big players in the tablet/slate market (AMD, Intel, Texus Instruments, etc.).

They make keyboard attachments. Some even work within various cases which house the ipad like a book, I believe. Ipad has its uses. I've grown to hate my laptop--i'm 90% sure I'll be picking up the new ipad.

The only one I would hype is the exynos5250/5450. Tegra always disappoints and I have very little faith that krait will be able to compete with the likes of Exynos.

I can't believe people are shelling out $500 bucks every year for a new media tablet. 90% of the people that buy these things use them for social media updating, games, and looking at movies/music. Apple has really made a lot of money off of chumps.

90%? Proof? Because the bulk of the time I see people using them in a business sense. Typing stuff up, conferencing, and portfolio stuff on the go.

Professionals aren't shelling out $500 every year for a new laptop/tablet, though. They don't have old computers collecting dust in a closet like the "chumps" who upgrade every year.

Cool...I'll stick with the Kindle.

I'll stick with my IPad 2. Won't need to upgrade again until the IPad 5 gets released.

I'm surprised they didn't lower the price an additional $50, in regards to ipad2. Thing would put Kindle out of business.

Who says it's the same people upgrading?

I've never owned a tablet, this will be my first one. Most people I know who have iPad 2s aren't upgrading.
