if Fallout 3 is an example of the corporate machine destroying everything pure and grand about a beloved franchine, then does buying Fallout 3 and supporting the corporate machine make you a tool?

Hey, if its a good game whats wrong with buying it? I guess its just something we gotta get used to. Not sure if Fallout 3 is moddable, if it is im sure it will be what the fans wanted in no time anyway.
If Diablo 3 turned first person, I'd wait outside of EB Games on the day of release with 5 of my D2 fanboy friends and we'd all have baseball bats.
Now I never played Fallout or Fallout 2 back in the day, but I'm sure there are many who are as passionate about the original Fallouts as I am about Diablo.

Any game is moddable. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl has a pretty decent mod community despite no development kit ever being released.

If diablo was made first person, it would be probably be made by Blizzard and not another company trying to profit on the brand name.

Really? nice one. I thought some games couldn't be modded. I mean i can't find any for Bioshock. I never realised that about Stalker, some amazing mods for it too.

YES! Unless, they stay true to the nature of the franchise. In this case, they are not.
If this is as good as Oblivion, then Fallout is a definite purchase.
It looks like it will offer a lot of replayability.
Plus, weapons and graphics look great too.
Who cares about the die hard Fallout fans?
Even if this game is in another direction, F3 looks really fun.

Most SP games aren't modded.
No, buying FO3 doesn't make you a tool. Lots of people have different opionions about games, and some people might prefer FO3 to the originals. This does not make them a tool.
Anyway, I won't be buying FO3.
This doesn't have anything to do with the fact that I'm disgusted by what Bethesda has done to FO, but more so that everything I've seen has told me that this is Oblivion with guns.
Oblivion is one of the worst games I've played in years. I do not need anymore of that, even if it does have guns now.
if the 360 had never exist, would falout3 be a FPS ?:roll:fishfake
if the 360 didnt exist i doubt fallout 3 would exist
No. Some (well, actually MOST) people are just more interested in simpler Action/Shooter Adventure type games than those deep, complex RPG type games. Doesn't make them a corporate tool or anything, it's just their tastes.
That said, I'm not interested in Fallout 3. But not because it's different than Fallout 1/2. I just don't find anything interesting in what I read in previews, even though the previews are extremely positive.
Whether you buy it or don't, you're not considered to be a "tool". It's a game for crying out loud.
I won't be buying this because not just because it doesn't feel like a Fallout game, but because Oblivion was one of the worst games I've played this gen.
But of course, opinions vary.
Listen, forgetting the previous Fallout games altogether (I only liked one of them anyway) I am still not interested in Fallout 3 in the slightest, based solely on its own merits.
It looks dreadfully dull, and stupid.
It's like the developers are substituting good level design and engaging core gameplay for slow-mo head popping and yankee doodle radio atmosphere shenaningans.
Screw that bland bull ****.

People just don't really bother making mods for some games, for whatever reason. Jedi Knight 2 had no mod tools, but an insane mod community. Civ4 doesn't really have any mod tools either, but the engine itself is easily moddable by anybody that knows Python.I hated the original Fallouts (the turn based combat felt pointless and tedious) but I thing Fallout 3 will be great because Bethesda has a tracklist of great games (Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion) and Fallout 3 looks incredible.liesandpies
Actually, this post disconcerts me. I have always defended Fallout 3, but if the people who are enthusiastic over Fallout 3 are the ones that "hated" the originals... and think that Oblivion was great... and think that the same Bethesda that made Oblivion made Daggerfall...
