Uh, yeah, hence levels of acceptance. There is a cutoff point, but it varies, and has so many freaking factors that you can't quantify it. But it's there.

The anti woke crowd will be all sorts of afraid of the main protagonist, so that complicates things a bit... I'm not sure what to think yet. I am always excited when a big studio makes NEW IP. less excited when we get heaps of sequels and remastered games.

I don't think naughty dog is the same studio as it was several years ago when their last game surfaced.... But that doesn't spell doom either. Figure it'll just be different. Not interested in overly cinematic with muddy gameplay like uncharted. Would like something focused and gameplay rich.

Correct, when I said Naughty Dog are no longer the developer they once were, I didnt mean the new development team is bad. Just that these are different people from the guys who made TLOU1 and Jak and Daxter :)

This isnt like how it was with Mario Odyssey hwere the whole team who made that worked on the original Super Mario bros.

Yeah, I mean naughty dog has been an inert developer with zero momentum since last gen. They've produced nothing but unnecessary remastered games and a failed mp game.... Then a hit TV show was the focus...

Both the game, and the movie, rip off the Living Daylights, without the basic concept that the reason that action scene was so good, is that it was real people, really flying hanging out the back of plane.

This is what people are upset about? This character? I have zero problems with her. She looks fine to me. I'm a HUGE Ripley fan, for instance. Brown, black, bald, whatever. I think the main character's baldness is a homage to Alien. That's cool in my book. Bad ass chick. Don't get things twisted.

My main problem is the forced 80s vibe, which is usually cool, but feels SO out of place here, like it's just trying to be trendy or whatever. Plus the space vibe in general is stale. It's just been done too much in games. Don't know much about this game in particular, but I'm pretty much done with space stuff. Starfield left a bad taste. And about a dozen others.

she acted nothing like her. ripley was still a feminine character. she was weak that had to become strong to survive. its called character build.

The reason why I'm not all upset with the protagonist as I thought ND was going for the looks of that style from Rush Hour 3. (I'm only bringing this up as I rewatch it the film 2 months ago)

The setting looks interesting, but Naughty Dog will absolutely squander the premise by making it super linear (rather than making an actual freeroaming space sim), and the combat sequence they showed was super dull.

Also, the whole thing just feels derivative. It's Guardians of the Galaxy with a NASA punk flair, and...meh?

There was nothing in the trailer that got me hooked. But I am interested in how ND will do a melee focused game. They put a lot of contextual details in their gameplay.

But I know what the discussion about this game will focus on and I'm already tired of it. So I won't follow the game until it releases...

Wish they would make a more cartoony game like Ratchet or Jak. Their art team and animators are ridiculously good and I wanna see that talent in that kind of game with the hardware we have now.

Tired of their half-assed attempts at being Hollywood.

Shaving head in reveal reminds me of the first Last of Us II trailer just being two dancing girls staring into each other's eyes before kissing. All these people wanna do is trigger. It's embarrassing. Their stories don't feel honest and their gameplay is only mediocre.
