When they said they might have to take some steps in that article, it basically means we're creating MGS 4 because PS3 didn't sell too much.

If they make it for the 360, they have NOTHING to lose. No Sony fanboy is going to boycott Konami because they want to play MGS 4 so badly. All they get is a userbase that is 3-4 times as big as the PS3 to sell to. So what if it's on 10 discs, getting up and switiching discs isn't that hard to do and won't matter because you're just having fun with the game.

If they don't make it for the 360, you have very little people to sell it to. It won't increase PS3 sales so much as to give all their profits back. Just look at the game, it's BEAUTIFUL. Those graphics come at a price, I'm guessing $40-$50 million(if FF12 cost $35, then this has to cost more). Not every PS3 owner will get it, and there aren't enough PS3 owners.

What does Konami have to lose to put it on the 360? Nothing. On the PS3 only? $$$$$$$$$$$$$, and that's all that matters in business.

They may not have nothing to lose, but if u lose your main fanbase, then u will lose alot more money screwing your main fans. Besides even if it was ported over, I still wouldnt wanna have a 5 dvd set since kojima wants to use 50 gb bluray disk, so goodluck with them porting it over and losing more money, lol.

That would only work if Sony was in a position of power, not a distant last place. Plus the 360 is supposed to be more developer friendly, so Konami moving to the 360 would be a pretty easy transition.

I don't think they care about credibility. So now what all the fanboys will boycott their games? Like I said, these are great games on a bad console, and people want to play these great games. I don't care if Gears goes on PS3, I won't stop playing it.

First off, lemmings don't have to steal anything, game companies want to make $$$$$$$ so they put it out on the systems that will give them the most return on hteir investment. Secondly, I own a 360, I want to play as many high quality games as possible, I don't care if their ports, first party, whatever. Third, why is it you have such a problem with the game going to 360 if it's still coming out for PS3?

I don't want MGS4 to become Multiplat because most multiplatform games are notorious for sucking on the PS3 horribly.

And I just want you to know that Konami doesn't have the final desicion in if it goes to the 360, they aren't making the game, only publishing it.

This may be true, but if so MS would welcome them with open arms.

Konami doesnt really make games that cater to X-box owners, MGS2 flopped on the original X-box

Another valid point, however the user base of the Xbox tag has grown beyond what it was when Xbox was around. It seems more people have accepted the 360 as their console of choice than those that did when the original Xbox was out. Personally I know 5-10 people who were "cows" and now own a 360 and not a PS3. I would also imagine that a substatial amount of current 360 owners would in fact purchase MGS4 if it were to come over. Simple math too....even if only 30% of the ~11 mill install base get the game for the 360 that is equivalent to about 100% of the PS3 owners at this point.

thats because the ps2 userbase was alot bigger and 90% of xbox owners had a ps2 be4 they even bought a xbox. this time thats not the case.. this might be the reason they would port it..

There's no reason to PAY for it unless you've got deep pockets and a lot of desperation. I.E., you're M$.

Exclusivity is the ideal. Its what every console wants.

But if worse comes to worse PS3 owners will get to play the game no matter if its exclusive or not. Thats better then losing it entirely.

Remember the N64? Lost games. It was a disaster.

Sony could get pissed and refuse to work with them, and sony is konami's biggest customerApocalypse33
Haha. You think Konami would really care? They would easily develop for the 360 and enjoy selling their products to a larger install base. The only thing that matters is money. No offense, but your argument sounds like high school- this is business, there's not really a regard for peoples' feelings getting hurt. MGS4 is probably the biggest system seller for Sony, they wouldn't shut Konami out because they were "mad at them" for porting the game.

[QUOTE="Dualshockin"][QUOTE="PBSnipes"][QUOTE="Carmilla31"]Lemmings always talk about how their system has the best games. Well, if the games are so good then why are they always trying to steal Sonys games? PBSnipes
Because MGS is a great franchise? You seem to think Cows wouldn't jump at the chance to steal away one of the 360's big exclusives.

Such as?

Halo 3, Too Human, Forza 2, Dead Rising, PGR4,and Mass Effect.

out of those i only want Dead Rising

is there any doubt now that MGS4 will be ported?

ParadiddleFill

Only by Sony fanboys. They won't believe it until Dan Rather interviews Kojima re: exclusitivity & even if that happened, they would say it really wasn't really Kojima, but some bionic twin that Microsoft built

Halo=Multiplat. And I can honestly say that the rest aren't interesting to me. But I will indeed be playing Gears on my Pc in a few months time.

[QUOTE="Not-A-Stalker"]If Microsoft can pay $50 million for downloadable content, Sony better pay up for the biggest game on their system.Timstuff

Sony does not negotiate with terrorists.

...in other words, they don't buy exclusives.

PS3 is not losing games, its merely sharing them. Big difference. Why pay for a game your still getting anyway?

Did you actually just say there is no reason to keep a game exclusive?

There's no reason to PAY for it unless you've got deep pockets and a lot of desperation. I.E., you're M$.

If I were to take an estimate as to how much MS has paid for exclusives this gen,i'd need an accountant.

I'm not really dying to play this game, so making it a timed exclusive would even be good enough.

you dont screw your biggest business partner, because they just released a new product that has a somewhat slow start, especially given Sony's track record of success, basic enconomics dude.

I have to sell my 360 due to money issues, so the PS3 will be my only system for awhile. I would love to have any of those games on the PS3.

So you're saying that despite the fact they are in 3rd place in terms of sales, have a weak game lineup and have the lowest number of sales per month, a console that was struggling enough to warrant a $100 price drop only 8 months after release, Sony isn't desparate? And that there's no reason to pay to keepa game (that is usually one of the top 3 most anticipated games for your console) exclusive despite the fact that the publisher has stated if PS3 sales don't improve dramatically they are going to look at taking the game multiplat? Wow. Just wow.

This may be true, but if so MS would welcome them with open arms.

Konami doesnt really make games that cater to X-box owners, MGS2 flopped on the original X-box

Are you serious? The reason MGS 2 flopped was because it came out on PS2 first and the Xbox didn't have a ton of systems sold at that point.Sorry to say this guys but as much as I love the MGS franchise it is not a systems seller. It never has been.
