YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!! AMERICAN REVOLUTION FOR THE EFFFIN WIN!!!! please be real...
I've wanted America circa 1795-1805, Boston and Philly are the major cities (already developed) and Washington DC in its infancy and containing the sevcrets to the end game.... it would be heavenly madness.... Freemasons can represent the Assassins and Templars can be the Brits or whatever... ugh, please be right.
It looks like the new protagonist is native American, how cool is that.YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!! AMERICAN REVOLUTION FOR THE EFFFIN WIN!!!! please be real...

Since 2007 there has been 8 Assassin's Creed games with a 9th one on the way.
1. 2007 - Assassin's Creed
2. 2008 - Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles
3. 2009 - Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines
4. 2009 - Assassin's Creed II
5. 2009 - Assassin's Creed II: Discovery
6. 2010 - Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy
7. 2010 - Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
8. 2011 - Assassin's Creed: Revelations
9. 2012 - Assassin's Creed III
-
Considering how much this franchise has been milked in the past 5 years, is there anyone who is truly hyped up for yet another Assassin's Creed game?

That sounds good!
Though the Assassin's are a real group (or at least use to be) so that may dictate where they head

Revelations and Brotherhood were just cash ins made by the B-Team, this is it, in development for three years by the main studio, It's going to be amazing.

I actually enjoyed B-hood a lot, why does it get so much hate?I love AC. The lore is intriguing, and the main entries of the series have yet to bore me. I know AC2 trilogy wasn't really big on changing stuff, but I still found it great nonetheless (though, I wouldn't be happy if AC3 isn't bringing a game changer)Since 2007 there has been 8 Assassin's Creed games with a 9th one on the way.

I actually enjoyed B-hood a lot, why does it get so much hate? I actually have never played a minute of AC that I didnt like.... they can milk the hell out of its awesomeness if they want.... its 60 bucks every year for 100 more hours of amazingness....Yeah, I'm pretty fatigued on the series; didn't even bother with Revelations.Since 2007 there has been 8 Assassin's Creed games with a 9th one on the way.

If they go back to a heavy focus on stealth like in AC1, I'll be interested. Otherwise I won't even bother with it.

I actually enjoyed B-hood a lot, why does it get so much hate? Not as good story, shorter, Rome wasn't really good of a city, but truly, I found Brotherhood great as well. It introduced two things I find essential in the series now, chain kills and 100% syncs.Yeah, I'm pretty fatigued on the series; didn't even bother with Revelations.[QUOTE="peterw007"]

Going all stealth in AC1 is either impossible or at least incredibly frustrating. I personally thought ACB handled stealth much better.[QUOTE="TheEroica"]

YES!!! YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!
I've wanted a game set in the American Revolution time period forever..
If this is true, Assassin's Creed 3 made my most anticipated of 2012 list.
Not really sure where the american revolution hate is coming from... does any other region make sense? Japan makes absolutly zero sense and france, though a cool setting, doesnt fit in with storyline, assuming this is the final chapter of desmonds story. Desmond is American, they're in America in present day... it seems to make sense that his lineage leads to him from America.
Whats so big about this again? there been an Assassins Creed game like every single year for the past what 3 or 4 years now? this is as bad as halo, pokemon and call of duty.. its cool news but nothing omg
good for the fans though
French Revolution is just bigger, more interesting as to political intrigues, a lot more assassinations (that historically happened), French cities are more exotic and bigger than American counterpart of the time (and a lot more monuments) If Desmond being an American is a reason why it should be set in America, then the what's with the first two in the series? Not really sure where the american revolution hate is coming from... does any other region make sense? YES! This is what I was hoping for:cry:
TBH, I was expecting the French Revolution, as it seems like it fits the bill more, but the American Revolution is more than fine. It's a more favorite part of history (for me) anyway.
After a quick search on google, the flag is the "betsy Ross" flag, which was made alledgedly in June of 1776 so it could very well be durring and not after the revolutionary war... on my previous concept, the freemasons (washington, adams and many forfathers) are the assassins, and the British Monarchy could represent the Templars. Also, I can't help but notice the angled square symbol on the assassins head... a tool of the freemasons. Maybe im reaching, but it would be extremely cool.

This one's made by the main team over a 3 year life cycle. Lots to be hyped about. I'm not particularly happy about the setting ... if it's true (it's still a rumour). American Revolution would be boring, considering there are no tall buildings during that era ... and the game is about climbing everywhere you go.Whats so big about this again? there been an Assassins Creed game like every single year for the past what 3 or 4 years now? this is as bad as halo, pokemon and call of duty.. its cool news but nothing omg

Feudal Japan would've been way cooler.

I'm more suggesting that we've been watching the ancient parts of his lineage slowly lead west towards america. French Rev would be cool too, but there's somthing about the American Revolution and the potential of the creation of the early cities of America as well as the literal creation of DC that could make for not only a fantastic setting but also a great ending...Not really sure where the american revolution hate is coming from... does any other region make sense? I live an hour from Boston and 3-4 from Philly, trust me, old Boston and Philly are perfect for what Assassins Creed does... I can already see Ben Franklin as his DaVinci type friend....Why does it matter if it does yearly releases? Yeah, I'll agree Revelations was a disappointment. Some say Brotherhood was too (not me personally). Both were direct sequel to AC 2, however, and made in less than a year. This one has been in development for 3 years, longer than ACII which put the series on track and gave it an identity. I can't wait to see what they have managed in 3.

This will be the first Assassin's Creed that take place outside the former Roman Empire, no? At least concerning the games I can think about.
.
Saying this beucase some connections between the First Civilization and roman mithology... I will be intersting too see the new connections that will exist in this game.
Those who are b****** are most likely those who never cared for the series to begin with... AC is one of the best franchises of gen for a reason, but it's not for everyone I suppose. We have reason to be very excited. Why does it matter if it does yearly releases? Yeah, I'll agree Revelations was a disappointment. Some say Brotherhood was too (not me personally). I can kind of get that while updating for the times they're still trying to maintain that assassin's theme with the hood and all. But that really worked for the past era's we visited. This look however doesn't seem to appropriately blend in with the surroundings of this particular setting. So it doesn't really function for what an assassin would need of this era. You'd think they would update in a way that would work without standing out.
