False... you will eat those words. It's a fail if it's not set in the French Revolution.

Why does it matter if it does yearly releases? Yeah, I'll agree Revelations was a disappointment. Some say Brotherhood was too (not me personally). Both were direct sequel to AC 2, however, and made in less than a year. This one has been in development for 3 years, longer than ACII which put the series on track and gave it an identity. I can't wait to see what they have managed in 3.

Off topic but is borderlands 2 coming out this year or next year?... surprisingly i loved the first one mainly because i was able to play with friends in story mode online, i hope the second game will allow moded guns picked up from the online lol.. ah i remmber playing that game once when non of my friends were online so decided to go play with some random people online.. after beating a boss one of the dudes in there suggested i pick up a gun from him after he drops it.. that freaking gun became an addiction for me it dealt an attack of over 10k damage. loved that game so much i hope the sequel will allow freedom too

I can kind of get that while updating for the times they're still trying to maintain that assassin's theme with the hood and all. But that really worked for the past era's we visited. This look however doesn't seem to appropriately blend in with the surroundings of this particular setting. So it doesn't really function for what an assassin would need of this era. You'd think they would update in a way that would work without standing out.
Ok, so the part where you go into your ancestors memories to chase magical dragon balls doesnt bother you, but when their clothes make them stand out you think thats unrealistic? Cmon guys lol.
Its a game, they picked a place that was cool and fun, they designed the character to look good, its for entertainment, not to be historically accurate or logical.
-saves names of posters who bash AC3 promo LEAK for when the gameplay videos are released to see if opinions change-

Funny you mentioned this, because while clearly from this thread, I've thought alot about the potential of America being the new setting, I wondered how they'd fit the traditional white hood in... All I can say at this point is that I remember seeing Ezio for the first time and thinking that it didnt fit, now it seems completely normal. I don't think Ubi would take a huge risk like that if they couldn't make it fit.[QUOTE="AmayaPapaya"]

Says the one that is a CoD fanboy.:P And at least AC adds and improves stuff much bigger then CoD.
Why not have it the other way around? You know, an actual twist, and your character fails to assassinate the US founding fathers or something (maybe the war is a diversion). Would make it more interesting than "US is teh good guyz derp". But then again, we have to look at who is developing it. hough, I always found the series interesting, this will probebly turn out the way you said it, just becasue it's set in the US.After a quick search on google, the flag is the "betsy Ross" flag, which was made alledgedly in June of 1776 so it could very well be durring and not after the revolutionary war... on my previous concept, the freemasons (washington, adams and many forfathers) are the assassins, and the British Monarchy could represent the Templars. Also, I can't help but notice the angled square symbol on the assassins head... a tool of the freemasons. Maybe im reaching, but it would be extremely cool.
TheEroica
And to all the people yelling "AC: Japan"........GO AWAY! What would make Feudal Japan more interesting than Chian, or The Mongol Empire, or Reveloutionary France, or WW1, or South East Asia?

That is a really interesting concept and i really like it... so in essence we'd be villifying the founding fathers... really neat concept. Oh and im right there with you on the japan thing... it would make zero sense. If they create a new story arch then sure, but why would we go from the west to the far east on a whim?heres a bigger image guess the main character is a native american. thats pretty cool
TheShadowLord07
Son of Pocahontas! Mestizo! Oh yeah.
BTW, wouldn't it be interesting if you were the one who killed the people in the Boston Massacre to help ignite the war?

The idea of villifying them is that the Victors always write history. Remember, King George was not a tyrant, as parlement had decided to put those taxes on the US colonies, not the King. And not only that, France, Spain, and the Netherlands joine dteh war on the American Side, so having the Assassin's on the British side would show a point of teh Assassin's starting to lose ground, and eventually become almost nothing in Desmonds time. It would drive the story through even more imo.EDIT: And there was an Assassin who killed Ghengis Khan, you see his statue in AC2. So mongol Empire would ROCK!
[QUOTE="Master_ShakeXXX"]See ya!Assassin's Creed is dead to me.

MONGOLS FTW! Id like to see an eventual AC game in every historical location... how fantastic of an oportunity for ubi, but not this story arch. I love where it seems to be going. So many possibilities and romantisized stories... paul reveres ride, boston masacre, tea party... ugh. Considering how AC is a yearly franchise, there's no doubt Ubisoft will exploit those locations sooner or later.

As long as they keep the story intriguing and take chances while maintaining the things that make it work, im on board.
