I don't see why they would care.... pretty much everyone knows the pc hass more exclusives than all the consoles put together. What's one more?well yeah i would, but console gamers wouldnt

Common sense says that the PC version is the "definitive" version not an exclusive to the platform though.
IMO all multiplats are PC exclusive. The level of improvement on PC makes it a different game.
haberman13
Agreed for the most part.
TF2 is AA on gamespot so it nobody really cares if it exclusive or not. As for my opinion, I play on PC but the console versions are still good enough to warrant it as a multiplat. Heck, some of the lovers of TF2 would say the game was better in its original form, before the hats, and that is the console version.

rasengan2552
And I think it's gone beyond just being the "definitive" version but the only version that matters and the only version that's relevant. Anyway I would also be curious as to how many console gamers still even play TF2. 55k played it yesterday on PC and thats pretty average for that game.
sure, why not...
most console gamers couldn't care less about that game anyways.
lazerface216
My point exactly. Community is still thriving on PC with no end in sight.

You can still get plenty of games in the PS3 version and there is a small dedicated communtiy, so I would stop talking as you know literally nothing.

nope
old TF2 was AA, it was unbalanced (but fun) garbage
Demoman was beyond broken, people with nostalgia goggles filter out all the bad parts of old TF2, like stickybombs everywhere and pyros being W+M1

Yes, but the size of the community has nothing to do with whether a game is exclusive or not. And you asked how big the community was and implied that console gamers don't care about the console version, so I was kind enough to point out that a small dedicated community cares.
Lets see
the PC has

No that's the vanilla servers not the console version. Those people are wrong anyway, it's mostly them complaining about the effects hats had on the art direction.TF2 is AA on gamespot so it nobody really cares if it exclusive or not. I would assume that the ps3 community is smaller than the 360 community and back when I played TF2 on the 360 there were very few players playing it.[QUOTE="15strong"][QUOTE="vtoshkatur"]

But you can easliy get into a full game. I play it on PC anyways. As for your other post, I already said I personally like TF2 more now, my statement was more of a joke. I don't know why we are talking about community size as it has nothing to do with whether a game is exclusive or not.

The 16 person player count is too small as far as playability is concerned (9 classes but only 8 players per team).[QUOTE="15strong"][QUOTE="SAGE_OF_FIRE"] I would assume that the ps3 community is smaller than the 360 community and back when I played TF2 on the 360 there were very few players playing it. On pc you never really have to worry about that with a healthy amount of players in a server that play both medic and engies.
Meh, sure. I'm sure in the coming years it will probably drop the XBox and PS3 community. :|

I'm actually shocked that Valve hasn't done this already. They have abandoned the console communities in TF2 a long long long time ago.

Why would you be surprised considering I just told you that the console versions still have small communities? EA handles the console versions anyways.
The game sucks regardless. Its like they needed one more company title to tack on to the Orange Box, "baaahh what the hell, throw in TF2".Lets see

Have you even played the PC version??? The fact that you think of TF2 as an afterthought proves you've only played it on consoles. Seriously get it! It's free and basicly every computer on the planet now can run it.

No I don't see that happening at all.
Valve has gotten buddy, buddy with Sony in allowing Cross platform play, and their move to multiplatform has been successful for them so far while not changing the popularity of their games on PC.
Intentionally moving away from multiplat development would be stupid from a business point of view. They get plenty of sales and support on consoles, so if anything it would benefit them more to try and expand their games and Steam on consoles then remain on PC and reach a lesser amount of potential customers and players.

It just doesn't seem at all appealing. No TC, to be exclusive means to be on only one platform. TF2 is on 3 that I know of, it cannot ever be considered an exclusive since the orange box. Before that, yes it was. BibiMaghoo
But as a previous poster admitted "TF2 was an afterthought" on consoles. It's a full fledged game on PC. It's borderline a "Demo" of TF2 on consoles.

What buisness though? I mean, do the PS3/Xbox community have the smae features like the Man Co. store? I mean, honestly, I'm not sure why in the world people would want to buy an Xbox/PS3 just to play the game. Seems like they should just get rid of it, yeah they're making money but that money tree is depleting. It's best to chop it down and collect the resources rather than keep tending to it. :?

lol. Its a game, that is released on multiple platforms, it is not an exclusive regardless of if it was an after thought or not. If they gave it to console owners as a free download outside the Orange box, it would still not be an exclusive. If it's on the consoles then it's not an PC exclusive. But I don't know why that would matter to you that much. The PC version is undoubtly better and if it's for the consoles aswell more people can play it.

Are you just referring to TF2 or Valve in general?
I don't see TF2 getting more of an approach. If they went with the PS3 Steamworks thing earlier they probably would have, but they've moved away from it now and MS is probably keeping them from releasing all the free swag with their restrictions.
At the same time though, I can see them offering some sort of massive CS:GO type expansion for the TF games in the future, that adds a LOT and adds to the console versions of TF. Evne then, Valve is pretty dedicated to their community, so I don't see them stopping all support for TF2 on consoles until the communities reach 0 people.
Love the vanilla TF2 on xbox 360 so yeah you can take the not-so-awesome PC version as exclusive.
