Bad news for MP3:C's score?

In the latest IGN podcast, they discussed that they think one of their "competitor sites" will give MP3:C a score of 8 or 8.5. Now, IMO, this is most likely Gamespot, but could also be 1UP.

I'm thinking it will be 1up, due to that horrible preview they put up. Gamespot hasn't really given any indication to the score they will give. However, I could be wrong and GS could flop the hell outta the game.

Which is why I think it may be 1up, since they gave the game a crappy preview. Once again though, they may have info that we don't about GS's opinion of the game.

This seriously has me worried though. Logic tells me that they are referring to 1UP, since they gave MP3 a less than stellar preview, but IGN usually views their direct rival as Gamespot. However, Gamespot seemed fairly pleased with the game in their preview, and in the preview you can tell they hadn't even really tried out the "advanced" control scheme.

Gamespot always makes it seem like every game is full of glee and happiness in their previews then they flop them.

If this is true and GS gives it 8.5 I think it will actually be much worse than TP. If it gets 8.0 the reviewer will receive death promises, not threats.

haha guys... listen to the podcast. They do nothing but boast about how hardcore and how amazing the title is. Bozon said "here is the MEGATON guys! I can tell you right now that our score will be between 8.5 and 10. As if it would be that bad haha"

They are giving it a 9.6 I bet... at least that is my guess.

If GS flops the game, there better be something in the review justifies the flop. Also, I better notice the problem when I actually get the game. If it's another unnecessary flop like TP I'll probably leave SW for a while. Why? Because I won't be able to vent my annoyance without being called a fanboy or laughed at.

I expect 8.5 from both 1up and GS. No worries as far as IGN goes, AAA garanteed there.

Damn. This is going to beZelda:TP all over again, which as sadistic as it sounds, I kind of hope happens because I missed the actualZelda:TP fiasco.

Since when is a good score a flop?

Metroid Prime 3 scores less than 9 here I'm leaving forever. IGN always has the better, more fair reviews. I was really surprised when they gave Bioshock a 9 I mean it seems they just underrated it to seem different.Metroid_Time

GS really started sucking when Greg K left and stopped reviewing all the big games. Now Jeff reviews them, and his scores tend to be all over the place. I mean, he scored Warioware higher than Bioshock.:|

But the new review system is the real killer. It just plain sucks.

I just used the word "flop" to mean they don't score it 9.0 or above. If they score it 8.0 or 8.5 I'd like to see legitimate justification in the review. Sorry that I used System Wars language. :P
