Yeah I didn't expect the PC version to be so f*cked up. At least the Steam version with its double-DRM. Also, for some reason it's not performing as smoothly as I would like. I can get Crysis Warhead running at like 50-60fps on Enthusiast settings, but I get random stutters with Arkham City. I wonder if it's coz of the textures. As much as I love the franchise the PC version is kind of a mess.
MasterShake, you can't like this game, it was actually good.

I'm getting a solid 80 FPS with the benchmark and there still stuttering all over the place. It's a shame because the game is goddamn beautiful. Also, what the hell do devs have against you knowing where your save games are? I recently setup one of my gaming PCs to a Win8 box and was moving all of my stuff over, but I can't find my goddamn game saves ANYWHERE. It's crazy. There's a folder for it in my docs, but the gamesave folder is empty. As much as I love the franchise the PC version is kind of a mess.

yeah, but when I moved my stuff over it had no option to continue from where I left of......Ahh.. I remember now. I was playing on GFWL and when I started over I decided not to deal with that garbage and play it Steam only. Ah ok, because when I uninstalled ME2 and reinstalled it I was surprised to see my saves come back haha.

Yeah, they both use cloud saving on all of their new games..Surpisingly, I find Origin's method of transferring your games to a new machine a bit more user friendly than Steam. In both cases it would be wise to store your games on a separate drive so that you don't have to redownload them when you build a new PC or reinstall a new os. On Origin you just point the Origin client to the folder where your games are and it will just reinstall them. With Steam you have to copy the steamapps folder to the new Steam directory. I have over 100 gigs of Steam games, that takes a long time. Still, not as long as if I had to redownload everything tho.

There is also a GFWL uninstaller out there that will remove GFWL from your games. The only problem is you will lose all progress. But really all you have to do is find the saves folder in your GFWL profile and move them to the standard gamesave folder.[QUOTE="GD1551"]

meh. Arkham is pretty weak. The gameplay is unchaged from the original and seems to do nothing but carry the story similar to Uncharted.
Protip: If the best element about the game is the story, you've done something horribly wrong.

I found the combat to be pretty simplistic. You can get through most fights by hitting a single button. The animations do rest, making it look like you accomplished something spectacular.
The game as whole is fine, but the combat is pretty lame imo.
MasterShake actually hyping a genuinely great game? Did pigs evolve wings? Did W Bush learn proper english? Did hell become the premiere spot for hockey?
What has happened here????? :o

If that's how you fight, then it sounds to me like you're the simplistic element here. Keep in mind, too, that a 100 strike combo wouldn't net you a quarter of the score/X P a more varied 20x combo would.I found the combat to be pretty simplistic. I'm buying that along with Asylum soon.
Maybe tomorrow..No.Monday.
Yes. Monday.Master_ShakeXXX
I never played Asylum either. I will probably check it out sometime, though I fear it wont be as great after having already played the masterpiece AC.
Asylum is awesome. Great game.It kind of felt that way to me as well at first. Yet when I play AC, every aspect is as well made as AA, or better. I think AA was more of a revelation, and AC an evolution.
Sigh, I need to get the AC expansion now...
santoron
AC's more open nature made the story move at a clunky pace.
The story itself crushes AA's though. Ra's al Ghul kicks ass. And the ending is worthy of an oscar.

Except that no matter how you put it the gameplay is still too simplistic. Mash X, about to get hit? Press A and jump over then continue to mash x.

Steam & GFWL=double DRM. Although as I said earlier you can bypass GFWL quite easily. The game doesn't use Steamworks. You can still launch and play the game without. I know I did.
Probably going to get it in the next few months (i want to say weeks, but i don't have the money), i liked Batman: AA but i didn't think it was THAT good, it was an amazing game but far from the master piece i thought it was going to be and sadly Batman AC seems to have some of the same issues (Boss battles) still it looks fun, like i said, i'm going to get it as soon as i can.
I love how people are bashing Arkham City's gameplay. Sure, the fighting system is simple to use, but its hard to master there is no need to add a whole bunch of different button promots to do certian movs (then people would cry about the controls being to hard). And Arkham City story is fantastic (expecially if your a Batman fan). I would rather play Arkham city over another rehased Call of Duty with the same controls and graphics.

So not only were you playing on normal, you're only commenting about the combat. There's also exploration, the predator stuff, and the riddler challenges.Moonwalking is also simplistic. Right foot down; slide; bring it up; left foot down; slide; back up. But you don't run at the mouth unless you're pulling it off like Michael Jackson. Getting an ultra high score with the combat is what the game is about. You're missing the forest for the trees.Except that no matter how you put it the gameplay is still too simplistic. i'm getting it on wiiU...hope its worth the wait.

Wii-U is playing AC3 at 60fps, so maybe Arkham Asylum will run 60fps on it.
Will be worth it if that's true

I didn't really get into AC as much as I did AA, it was OK but it just felt forced, so many of the Villian's where added just for the sake of it, but added nothing to the overall plot, oh and killing Joker, the character that made Asylum amazing, and City bearable...yeah, I hate the game for that.spike6958
No choice in the matter. Mark Hamill only came back to give "his" Joker a proper ending.
Too bad it was weighed down by way too much DLC.Zeviander
??? Don't buy it then? Unless you count the catwoman preorder content everyone got when they bought new, Harley's Revenge is the only DLC I'll be getting, and the game has given me way more gameplay than most titles for the price. Wasn't the rest just reskins and challenge maps?
