Wish I could say Zelda but I don't have much faith. I have a feeling its going to continue the N64 feel of TP. While Skyrim is going to be bigger and better in just about every way. I won't miss Zelda for anything, I have no doubt it will still be a very fun, very polished game, but the glory days of Zelda could be over...locopatho

Hey it ain't my fault, I'd love to play another Zelda masterpiece more then any other game in existence, I just don't have much faith in the Wii's ability/Nintendo's inclination to make one...Is this becasue it's on the wii? Indirectly.[QUOTE="locopatho"]Wish I could say Zelda but I don't have much faith. I have a feeling its going to continue the N64 feel of TP. GS is bringing back the .1 increments for rating games *just* for Skyward Sword. :D Also bringing back Jeff G. for another sweet 8.8 :P I wouldn't put it past them  :P[QUOTE="Heil68"][QUOTE="charizard1605"] You *know* it isn't entirely out of the question 8)Arach666

Oh come now, have more of an open mind about it, who knows, you may be surprised :)skyrim, never liked zelda, never will

So the wii's incapable of making a masterpiece of a game... Don't know who said that, certainly wasn't me :) thats kind of what it sounds like you're implying. Because it's on the wii it's incapable to ever being a masterpiece.[QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"][QUOTE="locopatho"] Indirectly.locopatho

A skyward sword is like only good for enemies that jump, and I don't know about rimming the sky... I suppose I'd take the sword.
Zelda sure doesn't seem to command alot of respect around here. But maybe it never did?
Can't wait until the end of this year when Skyward Swords owns the lot of ya :D

Zelda just won greatest game franchise on SW, so I'm sure people here like it.

Skyward sword will be 90% rehash from older Zelda games and will still score higher because everyone overrates zelda games despite the fact that its aged. Skyrim will still be the better game though.

How about if it has great dungeon designs and alot of sidequests? My opinion is biased seeing as i havent played a zelda game nor do i plan to, but yeah my vote goes for Skyrim. Dante2710
Why would you not give them a chance? That is just a strange attitude to have. I gave Halo a chance, turns out its pretty fun and is one of few games I miss my 360 for. I gave the MGS series a chance (just played them over a year ago for the first itme) and its one of my favorite series out there. I suggest you do the same for what is my favorite seires of all time.

I will really like it, I just don't see it being at the peak 10/10 quality like Ocarina or Link To The Past. Rival games have caught up and surpassed Zelda in most areas. TP plays almost exactly like N64 Zelda, with some lame motion controls thrown in and no challenge whatsoever... After playing TP, considering the Wii's hardware limits, and Nintendo's styIe, I just don't expect much that can challenge Skyrim or even Oblivion much...Shinobishyguy

I don't understand how someone can rip on Zelda for still being a free roaming world with dungeons and such with similar combat, when TES is going to be a big world, with leveling and similar combat and such. I mean they both are adding to the series but neither are breaking from their confines that much. Nor should they, for the most part. Zelda has always had a great style, and while they could throw in some interesting things and change stuff up a bit, I hope they never go to far from its roots.

The way I see it, is that you are mad that Zelda has not undergone some radical change, but neither has many series, including TES with Skyrim.

It's really funny, for a franchise that just won the Greatest Franchise Ever contest, so many people seem to hate on it :PSkyrim baby! Skyrim has dragons and screaming vikings, and radiant storytelling. Radiant storytelling > blonde person in green outfit running around with a sword that has something to do with the sky.
All we have really seen is the WM+ controls... which looks badass I have to say, I am sure it's going to be a lot of fun.Skyrim looks incredible so far. Skyward Sword isn't really that impressive from what has been shown.
Big_Pecks
Of course he is heavily involved, he is in countless interviews about the game, showed it off at E3.When did Nintendo say Miyamoto was "heavily involved"?
AmayaPapaya
Also check this interview, good info about how they came to making the game, they say Miyamoto is the one who said to use WM+.
lol well please help me understand! :P

I want the core Zelda design to stay the same, but to get bigger better and more bad ass! (to quote Cliffy B :P)
I want Hyrule to be massive, tons of NPCs and sidequests and exploration (like Oblivion) not small and sterile and N64ish like TP.
I want cities and villages to be big. Assassin's Creed has spoiled me here, but at least bigger then a couple of enterable buildings on a couple of screens...
I want tons of enemies wandering about, like Dead Rising or what have you. How about SEEING Ganon's giant armies instead of just hearing about them!?
I want more items, weapons, magic, horses and whatnot. More hidden treasure and secrets and just funny wacky stuff: Oblivion, you can find a dead goblin under a bridge with loads of wine bottles and a suicide note! Or make poison out of plants, coat arrows in it and hunt deer, then sell the meat. Or find a spell taht allows you to walk on water and run about on lakes. Just random fun variety and interactivity.
Not really for Wii, but ideally HD graphics, orchestra surround sound, top quality voice acting would be good.
Dungeons are fine, core design is fine, story is fine, just scale everything the **** up and stop reminding me of Ocarina in the worst possible way!
Thats my Zelda rant, I hope you enjoyed it, though you probably disagree as does everyone else ever :P
