That's the thing, Diablo isn't a rpg, it's a hack and slash with rpg elements- similar to dungeons and dragons heroes (so fun but somehow a 6.6) and to a lesser extent as far as leveling goes, Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Diablo is more of a RPG than wow, but I definately wouldn't classify it in the same group as Final Fantasy and Fable.

Most low level content while has story, isnt that interesting no, its all at 60/70 and soon 80 when the interesting stuff comes around, if you have just started, then you really have nothing to base it on.

And like Vandal says, if you dont read the quest stories, thats your own fault. though I wouldnt blame you while leveling.

1 Its going to be the first Final fantasy game to be in such a setting and most probably be rated M.

Secondly, I really enjoyed the kingdom hearts battle system

Also, although it is a TPS, its going to be mainly sword fights not just guns ( Im basing this off the trailer). The game just seems interesting to me, thinking of the possibilitys such as equiping different weapons like in KH. Basically it seems like a more adult version of KH in HD, which I really want :)

You really think Square Enix will make a Mature Rated Final Fantasy game? Has Square or Enix ever even made a mature game? TPS means third person shooter. We all know the game is going to take place in the 3rd Person and you can use swords and stuff.

I am sorry to say that the holy grail on any machine is being made on the pc. That is why you even have mmorpg on a computer. Most ture rpg players say that you cannot truely produe an rpg on any mahine the technogly is just not there. Age of conan tryed to produce this type of rpg but fialed. Anet guild wars 2 are trying to produce this holy grail now. The closest people to prodce this type of rpg is Blizzard so far.Age of conan is the best attemate ever so far.

consoles are still stuck in the dark ages of rpgies they don't push forward at all.

Hmm I saw a picture of FF Versus which leads me to ask people a question?

What is so compelling about this game other then its a Final Fantasy and the KH team? As of right now I'm worried as hell for the game. Why you may ask? Well I'll tell you why.

Within recent Japanese gaming magazine interviews, Tetsuya Nomura has stated that Versus XIII's gameplay will be a realistic derivation of Kingdom Hearts battle system with some elements of a third-person shooter - similar to Square Enix's Dirge of Cerberus.

• Kingodm Hearts Battle System = Good
• TPS = Bad (this is Square Enix lol)
• Dirge of Cerberus = Bad

This game could be concidered a spinoff, but in reality it really isn't. It holds no ties to Final Fantasy XIII.

Whats makes it so compelling is that the Kingdom Hearts team and the FF Advent children team (Kinetica) is working on the title. The main thing with the battle system is that not only does it derive from Kingdom Hearts and some elements of Dirge of Cerberus, but also Nomura is trying to assimalate battle scenes close to Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. That alone makes it one of my most anticipated titles along with Final Fantasy XIII.

The story is also alot darker and more "fantasy based on reality" which also sets it apart from the clearly fantasy world that FF XIII has. You take control of a king who is being attacked by rival nations for control of the crystal (the only theme that all FFs share). If Nomura and his two teams can make battle scenes remincent of Final Fnatasy VII Advent children this game will be awesome.

In a prevoius thread I've already posted various links from Square Enix, game sites, and essentially the entire industry is claims this game is a spinoff. I got into an arguement over this with Vandal last night on the GUFU IRC where he claimed that Square Enix and the gaming industry doesn't know what a spinoff is and that they are wrong. You heard me the industry and the devs are wrong this game is not a spinoff.

I am ver much forward to looking to this game. My only concern is TPS elements from Dirge of Cerberus. Any concept of that game added in is a worry as that game was gutter trash. From a story, atmosphere, setting perspective I have no doubts it will be amazing.

I'd sleep easier if they hadn't mentioned anything that has to do with Dirge of Cerberus though 8)

Original WoW = 1-60 > 5-man storylines > Molten Core > The Black Dragon Flight ( Blackwing Lair) > Temple of AQ > Naxxaramas, the invasion of the Scourge and Kel'Thuzad ( Warcraft III ).

Burning Crusade = 60-70 = dealing with the naga/Kael'thas Illidans forces and the various horros of outland.

Then you go to Karazhan, Tower of Medhv the prophet ( Warcraft III ) , Then onto Serpent Shrine Layer to finally kill off Lady Vashj ( Naga leader, illidans lackey ).

Then you goto netherstorm's "Eye", to fight Kaelthas whos ripping outland apart, You defeat him and his council, but he escapes.

You goto black temple, the home of the Draenai before the Orc invasion in Warcraft II, which is now claimed by Illidan when he fled to outlines with Vashj and Kael'thas. Maeve Shadowsong ( The one who chases illidan throughout the entire Night Elf campaigns ) is imprisoned there but joines you in the final battle with illidan, Illidan is killed.

Then, Kaelthas has completely lost his mind and becomes a lacky of Kil'jaedan, who promises to renew the sunwell, ( lies ), so you invade the Sunwell Plataue, kill Kaelthas, free the blue dragon flight members who become corrupt by Kil'jaedan, Kalegos and Aveena who both aid you in the fight of kiljaedan ( aveena sacrifices herself to cleanse the sunwell ).

Once you deafeat kil'jaedan, there is a long speech and a player controlled cutscene about the renewal of the sunwell and the blood elf civilization, Azeroth is now somewhat safe, the Drenai and Blood Elf problems have been dealt with.

END OF BRUNING CRUSADE.

Now its time to go to northrend.

surely a role-playing game, the key ingredient is roleplaying? Its about your interaction with the world and your ability to influence it. Any game where you follow a set path and play someone else's character and story that is entirely pre-written lacks any kind of roleplaying for me personally.blue_hazy_basic

Read up, Kil'jaedan is the final boss, you win by compeleting it all, there is an ending for each major boss kill.

A role playing game is when you take upon the role of a very fleshed out and complex character who is not static. There also needs to be some sort of character progression where the character becomes stronger over time.

It doesn't matter if there are alternate bridges. Notice the definition I gave fits every role playing game where as the one you described could call Splinter Cell: DA a rpg?

I doubt it will be a shooter. Nomura doesn;t know too much about shooters. It will probably be Action/.RPG

Its be commented that hes been playing alot of Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden in his off time though.
