What do you think is the best hack and slash game this generation and why?

Bayonetta easily, from the pacing to the boss battles, to the combat, and replayability. Good selection of weapons just a really refined awesome game./
God of war 3. Why? if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Plus the most amazing scale evaaa (Chronos and Posiden )) and teh graphics. Oh, and the angriest man on the planet :P Only problem's with it were the inconsistency of teh graphics and the story wasn't that great...
Bayonetta> GOW3> NGS 1/2> DMC4.johny300
shame I haven't played Bayonetta, and probably never will
god of war franchise is more than just hack and slash... people who think otherwise are wrong. however d choose for combat only ninja gaiden. this game needs reflexes the right combos the right timing ,everything. flawless combat. it is in NO way a button masher. the more buttons you press the quicker you ll get pawned. so do not be a noob and think before you attack.

Try it it's the best H&S game this gen.I would, but the ps3 version is pretty bad in comparison. Like, really bad :( Did the patch for the ps3 fix everything?

It fixes the loading, some of the screen tear, and stuff. The 360 version still runs at a better frame, and in turns the 360 version also plays better because of it. Bayonetta is a game about speed(like DMC was) so part of the experience is compromised on the PS3. Still it's still really good on the PS3, and at worst you could always just rent it to see how you like it, or try the demo and see if you really like the combat.I see the cows have stampeded the poll.

except that i'm the only one who said god of war 3. another guy said ghost of sparta. There's no stampede :P that said i haven't played bayonetta, it looks awesome though.

ok well think the demo....but somewhat faster...but not at excellence :P I don't know the point is try to see if you can rent it. You might be able to tolerate the drawbacks of poor port work for the finely crafted game play. Admittedly part of it comes down to how much of the cheesyness you can tolerate. If you go in expecting the story to take itself seriously or even be serviceable...yeah no. It's pretty much going to be as skankish as humanly possible to sort of be cheesy/tongue n cheek. The uber serious crowd usually throws a hissy fit over it so I'd figure I'd throw in that warning as well :PCows stampede? LOL! When's the last time that happened. Should probably change the term "cow" to something more appropriate like Bison or something.I see the cows have stampeded the poll.

Completely different genres. HnS are Diablo and its clones. DMC/GoW are action adventure games or simply action games.

Like jg4xchamp said, but i reccomend the 360 version plus the 360 version has more colours while the ps3 version looks washed out :(.[QUOTE="Snugenz"]Cows stampede? LOL! The main selling points of those games have become more about the customization, looting, and semi RPG mechanics. The hack n slash type name almost fits the other games more what with the major focus on the actual hacking and slashing :P Then again videogame genre names are all over the board. Probably should call em pure action games, or just call em beat em ups. Then we have to throw Batman into this convo, but meh his combat wasn't up to snuff so whatever :P inb4 Batman defense force. Please Log In to post.
