MW3 is going to 9.5 here.

CoD is the standard of this industry.

No wonder why FPS games suck today. I'm rather disappointed that GS couldn't see the bigger picture. You spend 5 hours in campaign, 300 in multiplayer and apparently that doesn't mean squat.

You have to buy that SP with the MP though. You don't as many MP maps as you could have had if had been 100% MP. Everyone says BF is about the multiplayer, so why let such a huge waste of gigabytes like this on-rails campaign slide?

if everyone spoke up, you could get a better single player experience that had more effort put into it, or a bigger better pure MP game.

It will. It will be just as linear and scripted as any CoD, but that's the standard. CoD does it right apparently. While any other agme that is very scripted and linear can never be as good as CoD, CoD gets a free pass.

Look at Black Ops. The campaign was average at best yet it was praised so damn highly. Unbelieveable.

I really am losing faith in the gaming industry if CoD is our damn standard.

• Will the SP be good if not better? Probably.
• Will Spec Ops + Survival mode be good? It's likely.
• Will it improve upon one of the most loved MP? Also likely judging from COD XP.

Do you like BF3? Is COD the standard? Did it stop BF3 from being great? I don't see the problem, it just got an 8.5 score, for anything else we'd be saying it's a great score. It should never have been compared to COD.

Just read the review and it it is actually super positive, aside from the parts concerning the campaign (though he didn't totally hate that, either). I'm also glad that Chris Watters actually understands vehicle use and their tactical advantage in BF3, unlike that Destroctoid guy who sounded like he should be playing CoD with its complete focus on infantry fights. Vehicles and how to use them effectively and deal with them when they show up is one of the many things that makes BF3 unique and more exciting than other games in its overcrowded genre, especially since it is done so damn well. Complaining about it just makes me think you should be playing something else.

I know this is System Wars and all and that everyone is just going to leap all over that score and ***** or feel vindicated about it, but let us be honest here, game is a great game and has a mulitplayer like what no other game will offer this year. Guess admitting that just isn't as satisfying, though. :P

No they aren't.

MW3 is guarenteed AAA here. Guarenteed. Running on a 12 year old engine with recycled everything, it doesn't matter, it's CoD.

Maybe that's because CoD comes with a full package(Great SP, Great MP, and Great Co-op).Luxen90

In fact, IMO, it's better than 99% of shooters that come out now-a-days. The only two games that are probably better than it are BioShock and Deus Ex.

How exactly do people want this to feel any more like BF2? Seriously. How can that even happen without just cloning it?

It's 2011, not 2005, they've fixed up all of the infantry combat and most of the crap the plauged BF2.

Bf2 was so good i've play it for 3 straight years lol. Glad i didnt upgrade for it .

Eh, don't be so dramatic. Different times mean diffferent standards, and if a developer wants to include a SP campaign they better be graded for it.

I just hope GS and other sites finally have the balls to call out COD's campaigns.

If COD got a 8.5 here because of the single player you people would be praising the review

At least he's consistent. R3 has an awesome campaign with an abysmal multiplayer. BF3 has awesome multiplayer with an abysmal campaign.

Seriously, I'm on the second level of BF3's campaign and I'm already sick of it.
