Anyone saying Lair clearly was not here for Twilight Princess or Killzone. I don't understand how Blue Dragon, Lair or MP3 are even choices here.TeufelhuhnWell, evidentally 360+ people say that Lair is... so that's a lot of voters who weren't here a year ago... including myself? *checks sign up date to make sure not schizo*
You forgot Shenmue and the biggest of them all... KILLZONETargetDogI thought you had to leave after you lost the TP bet :|

Are you kidding about Lair? Don't see how in the world you can even be serious.
what the hell dude, when TP flopped, gamespot almost crashed. There was a total uprising here. The game scored 9.5+ on average from gamerankings so nobody expected it to flop. Lair flopped weeks ago from egm, plus it was hyped AA so it was no where near the magnitude.

It depends on how you define the size of the flop. Numerically, Lair wins hands down. Over four points of difference between expectations and results.
However talking about the impact of the flop on the forums, Twilight Princess probably takes the cake. I mean there were people who seriously wanted to tear Jeff's throat out.
Lair from the point's perspective 4.5 thats just laughable
LOZ: TP from an out right anger persepctive I myself was there and it wasnt pretty sheep were going crazy I mean we hyped this game AAA - AAAA GOTY and it out right flopped with an 8.8. But atleast it was a good game unlike Factor 4.5's rogue squadron with dragons and terrible controls
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess easily. was hyped AAAA, Miyamoto called it the best Zelda game ever. (got to love the sheep in denial lol)
the second place goes to Fable (still remember the days before the review, it was hilarious
the third biggest flop was killzone.
honorable mentions to DOOM 3, Metriod Prime 3, MGS3 and Daikatana.
MGS3 went from a AAA franchise, last game was a 9.6, to a AA. Blue Dragon was made from the creator of Final Fantasy and thought as a 'Square killer.' Metroid 3 went from a AAA franchise to AA like MGS3. Zelda was a AAA-AAAA franchise and bombed at a AA. I actually think Lair is the least flop of all of those considering Factor 5 never made a sure fire hit in the past.[QUOTE="Carmilla31"][QUOTE="LegendofNerd"]Lair. Without a doubt.Soulja_West
MGS did get an aaa.
No it got an 8.5.
If that 'little' margin didnt mean anything then why did GS blow up after that score?C'mon... Zelda TP only missed the hyped score by a little. I don't know whether Lair was hyped AA or AAA, but either way it missed the mark by a huge margin.
Lair wins hands down.

Fanboys. What else.
From that list Twilight Princess.nivet14
TP got an 8.8. Thats .2 from AAA. It was hyped AAA. Lair got 4.5. It was hyped AAA....... Are you kidding me?
Out of that list. Flop as in game getting an awful score, Lair.
But the biggest flop as in there being a big fuss about it and being shocking it's Zelda TP. That game had an almost AAA guaranteed status and many hyped it AAAA, I don't think even haters thought it would flop.

Lair can't even begin to compare to the Twilight Princess incident.
Peoples reaction to the actual score does not determine how big a flop is. Its the score itself not fanboys reactions to it.

I think its a combintation of the two

This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about. This defines a flop so much more than adding and subtracting the actual score and hype, etc. Lair will be nothing but the butt of a few jokes while Zelda's infamy will live on forever. Face it. It's the truth.

A game's score determines if it's a flop. The impact of said score determines how big the flop is.
"Flop- A game that has not lived up to System Wars expectations, such as when a game is hyped AAA and gets below AAA status, or when a game is hyped to a certain score and fails to achieve it."
I interpret that to mean that 'flop' refers directly to scores - thus the greater the difference in scores, the greater the flop.

You must be new here, If you where here during the Zelda Flop you would agreePlus if it simply the score that the determines it, then why make a poll? I'm pretty sure the TC knows how to subtract...

That's just how it is. The more seasoned posters around here know it. Why do you think Killzone is still brought up all of the time? Because it's hype was massive. Zelda's was unreal. Guaranteed AAA and Cannot flop. Maybe a bigger flop will come along. But it'll have to be something bigtime. GTAIV, Halo 3, MGS4, etc. Franchises with lots of history to them.
C'mon, Zelda is a 20 year old franchise that has been a pillar for a long time. Lair is nothing compared to that.

Were the score the sole factor in determining this, this topic would not be up for debate, and thus, would not have reached 17 pages or ~724 votes in the poll.
The pages of this topic is hardly proof for or against you. Many topics reach ridiculous amounts of pages.
People have not come to a uniform decision as to what makes a flop "the biggest flop". And people never will. The number of pages can be argued for both sides. Watch what Im about to do, its going to blow your mind.

See what I did thar? It seems your trying to "act" smart. What you said did not make any sense at all.
Its one thing to ask whats the biggest flop (how low a hyped game scores in relation to the hyped score), and its another thing to say what was the biggest disappointment or upset in terms of a review.
For instructional purposes suppose a hyped game to score a 9.6, ends up scoring a 9.3. Yet fanboys are dissatisfied and react ridiculously to the review. In essence its not a flop or even the biggest flop, the score is still AAA but the fans were not happy.
TP was the biggest disappointment/upset but is by far NOT the biggest SW flop. Lair takes that cake firmly at a 4.5 when it was hyped AAA. Zelda on the other hand still got AA. Lair couldn't even get to a measly mediocre 5.The biggest flop has to be decided by something factual. That is actual score and hype. We can't define biggest flop on a bunch of peoples "Opinions"Blackbond
I don't think anything can speak against what is in front of you when you type into Google the words "Jeff and Zelda." It spilled onto blogs, forums, and other websites like the bathtub overflowing.
LAIR
 @ factor 5.
"there has never been a really good dragon game before so we think we can be the first to do it."

The Lair incident was pretty funny. I mean, it got criticised for a lack of gameplay. When a hyped videoGAMElacks GAMEplay, you know something's wrong.
You can call it what you want but I'll always know that the crapfest that is Lair is being blown up because a certain fanbase is bitter of an 0-for-3 AAA performance from 3 of it's biggest first party titles. TekkenMaster606
ouch,
that just might be true though...
