Everything about Bioshock screams high quality.......from the unique story, great graphics, interesting gameplay and abilities to immersive atmosphere and top notch sound and music. Bioshock just reads like a how to book on making a AAA title.

Nah, half life 2 is all action. And it has G-man. Plus nothing beats a easter european dystopia. Not even art-deco.

Its just one of those games that any self-respecting gamer shouldn't miss. Like Shadow of the Colossus.

Bioshock and Prime 3 are going to own my soul until Crysis and Assassin's Creed come out and then they will own my soul until StarCraft II comes out and then my life will be finished.

Most games aren't built on realism and the atmosphere looks amazing. Bioshock will probably end up being about as realistic as the game in your sig so it really looks like you are grasping here.

ever since i first saw bioshock it reminded me of half-life, not because of the look but because as you watch it being played without even having the controller in your hand you can feel how perfectly balanced the controls feel, the movement of the main character and the movement of the aiming just feels spot on to me when i watch it, and the only game that has that is half-life. playing half-life feels so natural and makes other fps games feel clunky. ive been calling bioshock GOTY for a long time now and i stand by that. its a masterpice but without multiplayer and no real draw to casuals, i dont think it will sell as well as it deserves, an instant classic none the less.

Gives the player tons of choices about how to deal with every situation in the game. I know its been done before (Deus Ex) but since Deus Ex, what other game has done it?

Bioshock is far more innovative than any other FPS coming out this year. It is set in a unique setting and is helping push the genre forwards by combining multiple genres together into an amazing hybrid of FPS, RPG and Action-Adventure elements.

A handful of games have done what Bioshock has "done" before but it has been far too long since we have had a new game with new ideas and new features. Deus Ex was released seven years ago.

The only problem Bioshock has is perhaps the mass appeal. Hopefully people won't be afraid to try it. Same thing happend to Deus Ex. Games which require thinking can scare people off. If it is able to put of this stereotype with the FPS advertisements than it can really go far.

No it will be a different game - a spinoff.

The PS3 and 360s hardware is not good enough to ru the game.... I mean with 256mb PS3 system ram and 360 512mb shared ram you would be dreaming.

It'll be like Far Cry to Far Cry Instincts - it was a spinoff that didnt retain anything that made the original great.

Heh and Far Cry 2 is comming to PC next year... looks freaking awesome, and like Crysis will defitnaly not run on console.

Absolutely. The best game coming out this year period in my opinion. It has had nothing but increasingly positive press ever since it was announced. The more I have heard and seen of this game up to this point, the more it has convinced me that it is the most original, and most stand out game that will be released in 07'. I am guessing it will get a 9.5 here with relative ease.

en_V

No, you miss-read. The weaving is going to raise the standards. The way that the game makes you feel for the city as a whole. To understand what once was and what it is now. The presentation. The way the game will make you feel as you become more and more part of this sick game that is called "evolution" that has occured in this city.

The gameplay is simply taking the open-ended spectrum and broadening it as enviornments and mutations do play a role. Sure you get guns that you create but with the engineering tree, plasmid tree, enviornmental "hazards" the game turns into a "survival of the fittest"

You aren't playing this game to reach some goal at the end.

No.

You are playing a game where you will become a living breathing manifestation of the theories of adaptation and evolution.

Most games aren't built on realism and the atmosphere looks amazing. Bioshock will probably end up being about as realistic as the game in your sig so it really looks like you are grasping here.

the game in my sig is alot more realistic than bioshock... bioshock falls into the fantasy catagory

Is Hitman a FPS/RPG hybrid?

If you actually read about the game you might discover why we are hyping it so much. Can you go through the Hitman games without killing a single enemy and still complete your main objective? I didn't think so.

http://cde.cerosmedia.com/f1c4558b762f5de91aa83c327185c7f0117.cde

It's been a while since I have played a game where that can happen.

Very Philosopical. If the game is that deep it will create the template of adventure/action/rpg hybrids for years to come

[QUOTE="lompocus"]And 3 months later Crysis will be the best FPS since bioshock,strahd01

I might get flamed for this, but I don't really care...I wanna spice things up:

Crysis will be the next B.L.A.C.K.

I liked black :|

said it once and i will say it again. Crysis better live up to the hype or hermits won't have much ammo left (if any) to use against console users.

Hermits already have the most AAAs, AAs and As this year, and loads of other great titles. I mean UT3 and Bioshock, Sup Com (2), CoH expansion, Hell Gate, The Witcher, ect. ect. ect. :|

But yes I know what your getting at. And if anything methinks Crysis knows what they are doing... Hell Far Cry scored AAA, and it had a shocking story line and some really bad levels... Not to mention bad Mp.

Comparing Crysis to Black is more than an insult, its gamer herasy.

Besides Black was console only....

By PC standards, STALKER is a great FPS. Probably one of the best single player FPS games since Half-Life 2. But Bioshock, wow. I'm ready for this game. My monitor's native is 1280x1024 so with my X1900 Crossfire setup I can hopefully get close to max settings. EAX audio support too. It's like Doom 3 all over again. I might have to buy a new chair for this one since Crysis is delayed.
