And 3 months later Crysis will be the best FPS since bioshock, lompocus
I might get flamed for this, but I don't really care...I wanna spice things up:
Crysis will be the next B.L.A.C.K.
no.
it FAILs in the setting... its like the 1940's UNDERWATER? with a scubadiver in a old metal suit? with magic and injections that make you throw ice and fire? it FAILS hard in the atmosphere. thats what i cant stand about bioshock.. the game makes no sense
en_V
I fear... you are actually being serious?
System shock has taught many of us a lesson. That lesson is if any developer out there knows how to pull of atmosphere, its these guys.
[QUOTE="en_V"]no.

Maybe one of his family members have been abusing plasmids? Personal vendetta is the only possible explanation for this...
is looks like a great game but nothing innovative. kinda like a better version of oblivionRagashahs
swing and a miss.

Most games aren't built on realism and the atmosphere looks amazing. Bioshock will probably end up being about as realistic as the game in your sig so it really looks like you are grasping here.

You quite obviously know nothing about the game.

the game in my sig is alot more realistic than bioshock... bioshock falls into the fantasy catagory
Yea I could beleive that, Shock 1 and 2 were aamazing games.
Following Bioshock Crysis and UT3
Halo 3 is kinda meh in comparison imo.

but crysis is only for pc. the developers said they had no plans for concoleSpartan-4295debunked by the developers already, once they are done with the pc version, they will bring it to consoles. I just read articles today on xbox 360 fanboy and ps3 fanboy, where crytek said crysis can be done on consoles, its only a matter of time.

so whats so innovative about bioshock? what does it do thats never been done before?
You simply just haven't done enough research on the game.
Everything from the gameplay mechanics to the weaving of all the elements to create an experience that is going to raise standards sky high.

they wont be the "crysis" to consoes... itll be a knock off...
and if they did bring crysis to consoles expect a massive downgrade

Gives the player tons of choices about how to deal with every situation in the game. I know its been done before (Deus Ex) but since Deus Ex, what other game has done it?
Bioshock is far more innovative than any other FPS coming out this year. It is set in a unique setting and is helping push the genre forwards by combining multiple genres together into an amazing hybrid of FPS, RPG and Action-Adventure elements.
A handful of games have done what Bioshock has "done" before but it has been far too long since we have had a new game with new ideas and new features. Deus Ex was released seven years ago.

The PS3 and 360s hardware is not good enough to ru the game.... I mean with 256mb PS3 system ram and 360 512mb shared ram you would be dreaming.
It'll be like Far Cry to Far Cry Instincts - it was a spinoff that didnt retain anything that made the original great.
Heh and Far Cry 2 is comming to PC next year... looks freaking awesome, and like Crysis will defitnaly not run on console.
Agreed 100%. Haters will be singing a different tune when all the reviews start rolling in. BioShock is thegame to own this year. BioShockOwnz
Absolutely. The best game coming out this year period in my opinion. It has had nothing but increasingly positive press ever since it was announced. The more I have heard and seen of this game up to this point, the more it has convinced me that it is the most original, and most stand out game that will be released in 07'. I am guessing it will get a 9.5 here with relative ease.
well give an example of some gameplay mechanic that will "raise the standards sky high"

No, you miss-read. The weaving is going to raise the standards. The way that the game makes you feel for the city as a whole. To understand what once was and what it is now. The presentation. The way the game will make you feel as you become more and more part of this sick game that is called "evolution" that has occured in this city.
The gameplay is simply taking the open-ended spectrum and broadening it as enviornments and mutations do play a role. Sure you get guns that you create but with the engineering tree, plasmid tree, enviornmental "hazards" the game turns into a "survival of the fittest"
You aren't playing this game to reach some goal at the end.
No.
You are playing a game where you will become a living breathing manifestation of the theories of adaptation and evolution.

said it once and i will say it again. Crysis better live up to the hype or hermits won't have much ammo left (if any) to use against console users.

Very Philosopical. If the game is that deep it will create the template of adventure/action/rpg hybrids for years to come

Hermits already have the most AAAs, AAs and As this year, and loads of other great titles. I mean UT3 and Bioshock, Sup Com (2), CoH expansion, Hell Gate, The Witcher, ect. ect. ect. :|But yes I know what your getting at. And if anything methinks Crysis knows what they are doing... Hell Far Cry scored AAA, and it had a shocking story line and some really bad levels... Not to mention bad Mp.
