[QUOTE="McdonaIdsGuy"] How dare you bash a ps3 game? didn't you know that in this board you need to talk good about anything related with PS3 and Sony?

This board flip-flops on me all the time, first I'm anti-PC (Even though I'm a hermit), then I'm a "Nintendo" hater, and now I'm a PS3 hater. Haven't been called a Microsoft hater yet! OMG! Am I a lemming now? :P

I will be surprised if absolutely no FPS games in the future will use online gameplay similar to the Warzone mode in Killzone 2 MP.

I'm sure they will, but how is that raising the bar? That's adding a new game type, not raising the bar.

the online play for killzone 2 is actually way overated for me anyway everyone went mental over the in game match type swap

Does it need to? It's a beautifully presented, technically suburb and fun game. Does every shooter have to move a mountain with it's release?

ahh but with a backing like it did and the whole ps3 shooter line up always having the 2nd place compared to it of course it needed to be some crazily out of this world. it was ment to be the halo CE for the playstation but since it came out late in comparison its just not going to stack up of course if it came out on realse with its current awesomeness then it would have been a different story.

I absolutely agree with the OP's statement, and statements of the sentiment that sales numbers doesn't necessarily correlate to a game's quality. Killzone bashing seems to be more about people jumping on an anti-hype/backlash bandwagon as opposed to being reasonable in their assessment of the game's strengths and weaknesses.

your "yawn" means absolutely nothing.

your point means absolutely nothing. Topic reads "Calling Killzone 2 a Failure Compared to Halo." Obviously, it's a KZ vs. Halo thread/

your posts are always anti-ps3. don't deny it. live it.

My "yawn" shows you I'm rather bored (or rather uninterested), and tired (that was at 11:30 at night mind you). ;)

*sigh* I was referring to ... oh yeah, this quote from the TC: "Killzone 2 is a great game that has raised the bar for the FPS genre." Myself, and others beg to differ. I'm not sure how you inferred from that that I'm "anti-PS3" for when my PS3 was alive and well, I enjoyed my Blu-Ray player hugely.

My posts are "always anti-PS3"... are you actually being serious? :?

Edit: This sounds like to me someone is still bitter over walking away from that previous discussion regarding MLB's exclusivity. ;) :P

Wow, I don't even remember that I was arguing with YOU about that. Anyway, that tells me a lot about you yourself.

How did I "walk away" from that argument anyhow? Refresh my memory please... I mean, if it means SO MUCH to you to take its exclusivity away... it kind of makes you wonder how you're not anti-PS3, AMIRITE :P

Your one of those types of people that are simply not conscious when you do certain things. Check out your post history, come back, and talk to me when you're ready.

FYI, you implied that PS3 was only good to you as a BLURAY player... that's pretty much taking a cheap shot on the system, is it not? Please realize what you're doing, and don't pretend to be something you're not.

If your so tired, take a nap. Argue with me when you actually can.

This is probably the best, most honest post in the entire thread.

Thank you. :)

Some could argue that Halo lowered the bar for the FPS genre. Compare Halo:CE to earlier gen games like Goldeneye N64 and Perfect Dark. Those games had just as much substance, if not way more than Halo. Hell, Halo didn't even have bots... had a low number of playable maps... didn't have all that many guns... The only thing Halo really did that was great for it's time was have a good control scheme for consoles. You could argue that it had a good campaign mode, but there was many games with better campaigns than it years before it even came out such as Half Life.

...calling the Forza series a failure compared to Gran Turismo.

Both games are great. Gran Turismo and Halo are much more successful because they've both been here longer and have a much larger fan-base.

Forza and Killzone (especially Killzone since the first game was bad) have much smaller fan-bases and they will obviously sell less.

Both Halo and GT were revolutionary when they first started, but after that, they just seemed great, not amazing.

Killzone 2 is a great game that has raised the bar for the FPS genre. You can't deny that.

It had to raise the bar somewhat or it wouldn't have gotten a 9.0 here on GS. Simple as that.

Even though Halo and Gran Turismo are ahead in sales, both games are missing features that their less successful competitors have.

Really? Hmm. That's the only conclusion I could come up with considering how darn defensive and hell-bent you are in going after people who don't love the "amazing" PS3 as much as you. ;)

By merely never replying as such? Regardless, that was just a tounge-in-cheek humour anyways. Hence the ":P" at the end so you wouldn't take offense to it, apparantly you thought I was actually serious in posting such. Pity.

I'd prefer not to waste my time as such, looking at my post history will only show a lot of "dislike" for the Wii -- ask many of the Wii supporters that, I've gone head-to-head with each and every one of them. I'm not sure why I'd "hate" the PS3 anyways? I loved my PS3 (Until it broke on me that is). I used it nearly every night watching movies, and whenever I get a game via Gamefly, I'd give it plenty of playing time. I wish I still had it, but I don't... pity again.

That was my main incentive when I bought it, back then... there wasn't any reason to buy the console aside from Blu-Ray. There was no game which shouted out to me as a "must buy". Not sure why that's taking a shot at it, many people did the same as I did. I saved myself money by buying the PS3 instead of the Blu-Ray players. :?

Argue with you if I actually can? Wow.

Defensive, hell-bent? How so?

And if you're so "chill" and "mellowed-out" about everything here, you wouldn't have felt the need to reply, nor would you even remember me so much to keep track of a previous argument. Seriously, adding a smiley at the and of a sentence doesn't really take away your intent.

Like I said, don't pretend to be something you're not.

Again, you throw a lot in your posts that hold no purpose... like the whole "wow" bit at the end.

Anyway it's almost 2am here. I'll hit you back tomorrow when I find the time.

"you lose" "stop the anti-PS3 talk" "Argue with me when you actually can"

Are those examples good enough for you, mate?

I replied because I felt the need to respond to an attack, comment, or inquiry. I remember a lot of things about whom I discuss with, I have myself a good memory. Sometimes I'm bad with names, and use sigs and/or display pics to refresh the memory; but your name came to mind and I remembered. Does any of that even matter anyways? :?

The smiley at the end shows or more-so gives incite to the way you're suppose to take the message. It gives the message a "tone". For example: "you're so not smart :|"; Using the indifferent smiley shows that I'm not only serious, but gives the tone that I'm being rather "mean". "You're so not smart :P"; using the smiley at that end shows that it's tounge-in-cheek humour and not to be taken seriously. Understand?

What exactly am I pretending to be? :?

That "wow" shows that I was astonished at the completely irrational remark you left at the end of your post; it was completely and utterly unnecessary, and entirely irrational.

He has a point. I've never seen you praise anything about the PS3 in one of your posts. Anyways, back on topic. What exactly is the point in comparing Halo 3 and KZ2? They are completely different, as anyone who's played both would know.

*yawn* Here's your so-called "praise": "PS3 does cost more up front -- but there's added benefits which makes that cost more attractive then the Xbox 360 system (Free online, Blu-Ray, ect)." That was taken from the previous thread you replied to me here. I've already explained that I loved the PS3 when I owned one, but was pissed off beyond hell when it broke on me.

Where did i say that it had to? I'm responding to the TC's comment "Killzone 2 is a great game that has raised the bar for the FPS genre. You can't deny that." Which is completely and utterly wrong. KZ2 is a standard shooter in it's design and has not raised the bar of the FPS genre.

Killzone 2 definetly didnt fail, it created an awesome game, i wouldnt quite say raised the bar maybe a little bit thats opinion i guess.

Halo has a bigger fanbase, a lot more people know of halo than killzone. just because on did better than the other doesnt mean the other failed.
