I want to slap the people that made RE5 into "a racist game".

I remember back over at gamefaqs there was this big troll who occasionally make topics about RE5 being racist. I mean he would literally make the same topic over and over once a couple of days.

Is it not one of the most idiotic thing that because its black people getting shot instead of white people like in most games, its suddenly racist?

Its a sensitive issue that gets looked into, too much by everyone. Really, really hard to explain but capcom in the end shouldn't have been criticized for basing it in Africa. It was just a setting idea. Again, just a sensitive topic that's really hard to get around without people getting upset. If this is what they have to do to avoid controversy, then so be it. It is what it is sadly.

The teasers for RE5 and RE4 for that matter were full on Unfortunate Implications, that much can't be denied. Did people blow it out of proportion? Naturally.

I honestly didn't care what so ever for me not to use it or what not.. But this didn't stop me from pausing a minute and thinking "wow really Capcom"? I wasn't appalled so much as doing a physical face palm.

And this is why this topic is not SW appropriate. You can't simply make a statemet like "your racist" when RE5 was specifically under fire for questionable content. You don't think people were watching when they were playing?

Actually they did have some rumblings about that.. But yeah I think the actual cry out was pretty illegitimate.. The only portion that made me face palm was what they did with Sheva with her alternate costumes and ultimate weapon.. Where she can either dress as a hooker, or tribal clothing.. And a primitive wood bow and arrow..

The people from the island of Nauru were not represented in the African towns of RE5. This obvious display of racism upsets me greatly. I hope the Nauruan people will prominently feature in future Capcom titles to compensate.

It changed AFTER people complained. To me Capcom shouldn't have listened, it looks stupid with mixed races. Go all out or don't bother. Well, after Europe raped Africa into the state it is in now, it is understandable why black people feel bitter about our treatment in games and media.

Perhaps this thread has taught me I am being too sensitive but when I am black and the majority of this people on this board are saying black people ***** to much while completely ignoring the reason "some" were being pissywhen I specifically do not care or am not offended is offensive. Perhaps I'm a ***** but if RE5 is not racist to me yet somehow its wrong to discuss what RE5 represents and wanting explanations beyond, black people need to get over the past, whites and other people don't complain IS ANNOYING. Like you said, has anyone stepped back and like looked at RE5 as just a concept and read it allowed? It sounds a lot worse than you'd think. Combine it with the trailer which shows nothing of what RE is about and you'd think it might be possible to understand.

Then there is the fact that nobody is actually understanding what Capcom is saying.This was a game made in Japan, forgive me but I don't think even if something in RE5 was racist (there really isn't anything racist in it though I could see people getting annoyed by choice parts) they would bat an eyelash, they wouldn't know. Is having Capcom US (the place where the game is going to sell the most) do a bit of quality checking going to ruin the integrity of the games? No, if Capcom US has to say something clearly THERE IS a problem.
