Yah The Witcher looks great.

I played the game with some texture enhancements but at first the hair texture was not saved properly.

The textures weren't set to transparent but later in the game I fixed that.

Although I don't have screenshots of it fixed sadly.

Maybe I will take some later.

The choice on which is better would come down to what your prefer in your game's looks, neither has any significant advantage over the other to make an objective choice on which is better. Now Wticher 2 vs Fable 3 however is a completely another story where fable 3 loses pitifully.ferret-gamer

That does look better, still outside world looks vastly better on Fable 3

Half Life 2's engine supports DX7. Yet with mods that game looks amazing even for a game thats from 2004.

Way to derail a thread. Fable and The Witcher are very different RPG's. The Fact there are 4+ pages of discussion about it means the troll has got their way. (granted, one page was him talking to himself).

Witcher 2 On Consoles = Not a crazy idea.

The fact still remains the PC is the superior platform for the game, but if people want to wait an extra year for a pseudo HD release instead of plugging in a controll pad; thats their choice.

Even Oblivion looks better.

It is mightly impressive that Witcher, which was built on engine from 2001 maneges to look comparable to Fable 3. I guess this is what dev's talent plus pure graphical power of PC hardware can acomplish. I wonder how much better F3 will look on PC.

I think after they finish The Witcher 2 and more than half a year passes by they will look at what the console version is capable of and probably drop it.

If next gen consoles came out around late 2012 then they may decide to develop the game for that.

Many companies have done that in the past.

Like how half life 2 came out on the PC in 1998 and was ported to the PS2 later in 2001.

Oblivion doesn't have good lighting. This is true from what I remember. I'm getting the GOTY version for xmas since I lost my original disc. However Fable 3 is a low res jagged mess. It's artstyle is boring too. Maybe when it comes to PC, if it ever does, it'll actually look good.

You mean Half Life 1 :P I played it on the PS2 because even though we had a good computer back then, I didn't play anything on it besides Delta Force 2 and that game was f'ing awesome back then. Not very good these days. Anyway I hated HL1. It was really boring, I don't hate HL2, but while I didn't find it as boring as the first it still wasn't good. I didn't even know about CSS and how it came with HL2 free. It got me away from Battlefield 2. That game is addicting!

Anyway back on topic. Next gen consoles I can definitely see The Witcher 2 on those, since they'll likely be as powerful as my computer I have now. They'd better add KB/M support though!

Not really, Fable 2 was low res, Fable 3 is fine and crisp

and has the best art i have seen in a 3D video game, so art is subjective, the art is one of the main reasons it is my top game of all time actually

Pretty much any console game can be considered low res by PC standards. I'm used to using high resolution textures. Fable 3 isn't great. It's pretty bad. The picture is also downsized so that hides some of it's downsides. While Fable 3 is an improvement over Fable 2, it still isn't great nor good.

Yah It is low res, blurry and jaggedy.

The only good thing it had going for it was ok lighting.

Everything else is pretty much bleh.

When I was watching gameplay vidz of The Witcher 2 it seemed they took some ideas from The Witcher 1 Combat Rebalance mod.

I hope they keep the poker dice game in and maybe add some other cool games.

And yes they are bullshots, just like the majority of Gears 3 screens. They are not in-game nor being actively rendered. Lolbullshots.

Heck I was suspended for posting that going by artistic direction can mean Another World looks better than any PS3 game.

Since the post I responded to was a guy saying that artistically, Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube looks better than Metro 2033 on the PC.

I am not sure if that guy was suspened but I certainly was.

So be careful because mods will suspend you for practically no reason if you say something they don't like.
