[QUOTE="AdrianWerner"]Anyone listened to GFW podcast? What the hell has happened to Chris Taylor? :? I mean first he makes Space Siege even simplier and more streamlined than DungeonSiege (which already was jokingly compared to screensaver) making it a "game for amputees" (not my term, heard it from Age of Decadence dev) and now he goes on to ramble how rtses are too complex, that anything that requires a tutorial is bad and shouldn't be this way. I wonder if this isn't simply a way of hiding the "we need simplier games so they can be ported easier to consoles" thought.
All I can say is thank God for companies like Stardock, Related Designs, Iron Clad, Paradox Entertainment or Creative Assembly who don't assume their gamers are morons.

Yeah, it's one of my favorite podcasts. I was very disappointed to hear Taylor's attitude, and the way he left the podcast half way through, along with his shameless plugs for Supcom 360 made it quite obvious he was only there for that reason, he offered nothing intuitive to the conversation at all. I would even go as far to say he sounded pretty arrogant. He's delusional if he thinks Supcom or any tradional PC RTS is ever going to have the same reception on console. The only RTS's with a similar chance of PC RTS success is Endwar and Halo Wars, which are built for console. Taylor then mentions that in the future they have "console" and "console and pc titles" to be announced, basically saying he's done making PC exclusives. It's obvious he's bitter, you could hear it in his voice.
The guy from Relic was much more uplifting and talked about how they are pursuing an ad based model in China with CoH, with hopes to bring it everywhere else. Overall, yesterdays podcast was much better. 1up had a good one today though, with FourZeroTwo of IW, they talked a lot about the PC version of the CoD4, thankfully Shawn Elliot is now on the 1up yours podcast, which finally gives the PC a voice.
Can you link me to the podcast?
