You can't justify used games sales and rentals. Any arguement that you make is just going to narrow down to you being cheap.

You want to stop people buying used games? Then include a decent amount of exclusive content or something very appealing that is only available via a one time code that is included with each game. Create something that would make people prefer to have the new copy over the used copy

I'm coming to wonder: would people be willing to give up some of their rights if it meant that the industry would really flourish?  Let's just assume that getting rid of used games would give us cheaper prices, that developers would take more risks, that we could see higher budget AAA games, would everyone be cool with not being able to buy/sell used?
