[QUOTE="3picuri3"][QUOTE="TREAL_Since"] I really don't think the PS3 is ultimately doomed. Sony is going through some heavy losses though.TREAL_Sincei think the media, and people that work in business / financial sector all day have a better idea than you - sorry. So people are really saying the PS3 will DIE? Period? No matter what? That's what ultimately doomed means to me. The PS3 and Sony are facing rough times. right, did you take the time to read any of the articles? it's showing the trends of a dying console - and bluray isn't making any gains. please read them all.. and look up the Forbes articles. some go as far as to say it appears Sony is intentionally tanking the PS3 to save money.... yeah. sounds nuts, but when you think about the business side it's actually pretty sensible.

Sony can only get their ass kicked for so long before they take drastic measures to become more competitive. By this time next year, I expect we'll see a $300 PS3, with a $200 black friday sale.Timstuffnot going to happen, read the articles that came out today. they outline how Sony CANT lower the price. if they lowered it more they would be bleeding money. so unless something drastic changes in the next year (value of Yen changing - not likely, or components getting drastically cheaper - not likely). this global economic crisis has Sony by the *****. they can't do anything but sit and wait... and with this economic crisis predicted to last 5 years i see Sony taking a bow once they've sold current PS3 console stock. things could change - but that's how it's looking to me.
How do they matter to you as a gamer really now? what are the sheep playing this year?, the 120931238120971318 mil units sold? lulz...
Al3x_n90
They matter a lot. If PS3 is a sinking ship like stated in the article, imagine what would happen if that ship sinks? No more PlayStation, no more games for it. For a gamer that would be disaster.

We will see what happens. yeah, could end up being BS, but it paints a gloomy picture. and remember this is from about 4-6 independent sources in the span of 3 days.... all of them reacting to the NPD figures. and the Bluray consortium said publicly in October that it might have to 're-examine marketing and future potential' for bluray if this holiday season didn't work out for them... it's not lookin good.

the games would go to another console. and having only 2 consoles has been proven to be better for gamers in the past. this is a fact. one console would be the best.[QUOTE="Icarian"][QUOTE="Al3x_n90"]

Those games might go to other platforms, but would those games be good without Sony's support? Also competition is always good for consumers because of two things: Price and quality.
i really think you should double check that. from what i've been looking at it's just not true, PS3 sales are overall disproportionate to 360 game sales... I said they aren't on par with 360 game sales (sometimes not even close). I never said PS3 games sell more than 360 games.[QUOTE="3picuri3"][QUOTE="TREAL_Since"] PS3 games do sell well overtime. Like someone else said in another thread, they just don't have that initial explosion of sales like 360. They still aren't up to par with 360 software sales, but devs still make profit, just not as much as 360 games.TREAL_Since
All PS3 games don't sell poorly like people suggest. They just don't sell as well as 360 games. Motorstorm 2 and LBP are already 1 million + sellers :). PS3 games sell more over time, opposed to 360 games that obtain the bulk of their sales within the first 2 months.
Proof of those selling more then a million copies each is required for such a statement. All the news bits I found about LBP put it less then 400k worldwide. This might be an old number but I bet its still below a million. I be waiting. You will also have to show proof of PS3 games selling more then 360 games over a long stretch. Heck, look at the Nov NPD, Madden 09 is still on the top 20 list for the Xbox 360!
Can't wait to see your proof.
[QUOTE="AgentA-Mi6"][QUOTE="TREAL_Since"] I will read them all. I've read only two. We will see what happens.TREAL_SinceAnd you didnt believe me the Ps3 had fallen the very same day FFXIII went Multiplat, everything since that day changed The PS3 is going to die. We will see.
Yep that's pretty much what the people on here are saying but I hope not.
I honestly think Killzone 2 will sell more than Resistance 2.dark-warmachineIt's generated SO MUCH hype that it's obvious it's going to sell. I mean EVERY PS3 owner or at least the majority is waiting for this game. I mean KZ was supposed to be Halo Killer and look what happened. But, I have to admit KZ2 LOOKS amazing:) I hope it's as good as it's hyped to be.

did you read all the articles today? read the npd sales? it's a quality system, with some terrific games, but it is a wee bit of a disaster.-high price point
-economic crisis
-loss of exclusives
-poor game sales
that's what we call a conflagration :P i mean it's not a complete disaster.. but there are alarms sounding

Ohh of course but when you say "complete disaster" it sounds as if the console has done nothing to benefit it's userssad day for sony, thats for sure. I almost feel sorry for them:P They have this HUGE marketing campaign in europe right now, but looking at thos US sales numbers..quite sad actually. I hope they'll do well in europe. And I'm sure they'll survive this crysis, the PlayStation brand is far to big to give up so easily.killerfist
Killerfist has just entered end game, Just because it did poorly one month doesn't mean it's going anywhere, and the second one, sony is just gonna throw in the towl because of one lousy month
[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="WAIW"]fanboys of what, exactly? what a desperate statement you just made.3. The PS3 just doesn't have any must-have titles exclusive to the console. "LittleBigPlanet" has generated decent buzz but isn't a game-changer, and neither is Sony's new virtual world "Home."
CNN Money are fanboys, confirmed.
We all know Sony's losing the casual war, but at this point any gamer recognizes the PS3 has some big guns.
WAIW
What does it matter? If they can't admit the PS3 has any must-have exclusives, they're clearly prejudiced.
You know CNN does not go by Gamespot's scores when talking about game right? So the whole MGS4's 10 score means nothing to them. Gamespot scores means nothing in the real world. CNN and other media companies look at Gamerankings or Metacritic. On those sites the 360 has more AAA,AA,A.So before you say stuff like the man reporting at CNN is a giant lemming just think about it.

Exactly. The end of PlayStation would be the end of Sony. Well, not really, but PS is way too important. It's obviously a little fanboyish, They didn't say it doesn't have many must have titles compared to 360. Look at what they said "The PS3 doesn't have ANY must-have titles. Even on gamerankings this year alone, the PS3 has 2AAAE's and at least 7 AAE's. LBP scoring higher than gears of war 2 as well. Far from not having any must have titles :| It would be fanboyish to claim what they said is completely justified. Then again, CNN probably took the idiot route and is basing "must have" status on sales and only sales. You know CNN does not go by Gamespot's scores when talking about game right? So the whole MGS4's 10 score means nothing to them. Gamespot scores means nothing in the real world. CNN and other media companies look at Gamerankings or Metacritic. stopped reading after the 3 words CNN.... this gen isn't over, PS3 bigger guns haven't been released yet. besides, so far the PS3 is doing well, Good games, great features, online, bluray player....it stands its own ground. These articles are just overdone to make news.
I'm sure the lemmings will live it up, they probably see this whole generation as a reverse of last where they got annihilated by the playstation 2. Unfortunately I look at the numbers and I still see the playstation 3 closing the gap and the wii absolutely calling the end of days for them both.Zenkuso
LOLLOL ps3 is closing the gap when it's getting outsold by both 360 and wii?

On Metacritic the PS3 has two AAAE's. CNN said the PS3 has zero must haves. So even from your perspective they're ignoring great games.
It's irrelevant though, they're talking about sales, not quality.
