[QUOTE="Truth-slayer"][QUOTE="OremLK"]Well, the 360 controller pretty much guarantees that any multiplatform will have better controls than its counterpart on the PS3.OremLK
Maybe for you...but there is a reason why the Playstation hasnt changed for over 2 generations. *Hint it may have something to do with it being the best controller overall......Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that Sony doesn't care enough about gaming to ever bother designing a new controller; the old one works, so why change it? They've always run the Playstation as a mere business.
This complaint of mine goes all the way back to the original Playstation, and it's why I've disliked Sony's consoles since they first started coming out with them. Sony isn't known for any first-party titles; Microsoft has Halo. Nintendo has... too many to mention, beginning with Mario and Zelda. Why is it that after all of this time Sony has never committed itself to any actual games? Why does it merely ride on the successes of its third-party developers?
Why would Sony shove a Blu-ray player into their console, driving its price up at the expense of its adoption by gamers? Is it, perhaps, because the PS3 is part of an overall business strategy, rather than being aimed as an actual system for gamers?
It all comes down to the fact that Sony is completely apathetic towards gaming. Of course they'll never bother designing a new controller, instead sticking with one that to this day is still a tweaked, over-buttoned rip-off of the original SNES controller. It's ugly, it's not particularly ergonomic, and it's confusing and unintuitive for newcomers. But what do they care?
Sony isnt known for any first party titles? Where have you been for the last twelve years? God of war? Gran Turismo? Socom?
Yes i know Sony themselves didnt make all of those games, but then microsoft didnt make halo either.#
As for the controller, i absolutely agree it is unituitive to use... if you're IQ is below 90. In case you didnt notice, it has almost the exact same layout as the 360 controller, aside from left analogue stick, and no, this does not make a world of a difference either.
The ONLY thing better about the 360 controller is the triggers, and while i do love them, i hardly notice while im playing. Case in point, i was playing cod3 on ps2 and rainbow six on 360, and while you're actually playing the game, the lack of tactile feedback/feeling/response from the ps2 controller wasn't even noticed.
EDIT: In response to original poster, cod4 will definitely be superior on the 360 due to the online community (size not quality). Eventhough i can still find games on killzone liberation on psp, a larger community means that a year down the road there will still be a significant amount of players online. Ive no doubt cod4 will do well on ps3 as well, but games like socom will very seriously damage the number of online players, as it was probably the most played online on ps2, and has a very dedicated fanbase.
