I really hope you're kidding with this one. Super Mario World has always been my favourite Mario game and platformer of all time. LittleBigPlanet doesn't hold a candle to it. And even though I've beaten SMW several times, I'd gladly play it over and over again rather than play LBP.princeofshapeir

Comparing SMW to LBP is like comparing Led Zeppelin to the garage band down the street.

LBP can't even compete with SMW. SMW is eaily the best Mario in existence, and also an instant classic.

Super Mario World. Not the best Mario game IMO, but it still a classic.

Jesus nostaliga is a b****! SMW is better as a platformer so if you comparing that then it wins, but a game as a whole i would take LBP over it. The art style, creativity, and just the simple humor put into lbp makes it a better overall game for me, the platforming is a bit odd at times but i would still take it over it anyday.

In this case, nostalgia isn't a *****. SMW performs and plays just as well as when it released. 2D Mario titles hold up exceptionally well. LBP has more flaws, and it got released how many years later? It seems like it's the one that should be playing the nostalgia game. The fact that LBP has to rely on style over gameplay substance is quite damning.

And windy is right. The aesthetics of SMW are much more memorable. So it has the style and gameplay substance.

i love little big planet but its no super mario world. Just because its not better than one of the greatest things humans have ever produced, doesnt make it crap though lol its not a fair comparison

after replaying both of them yeah smg is way better, the levels in sm64 after a while just stop being fun and feel more like a chore, smg is just non stop fun all the way through

LittleBigPlanet is obviously better in every way, yes Super Mario World was amazing for it's time but there is nothing that is still amazing about it today.
