Shooters are fun I dont know what you find so greath about these linear 2D fighting games, but I am not complaining about that am I ? I really dont get why people think shooters are somehow inferiour games, what a lame excuse to bash an game genre. Why not complain about RTS they are all the same right, fighting games, they look the same ? What about racing games, wow they totaly look the same, and JRPG's they all have the same style, so they have to be the same... oh wait fighting games like NG and DMC are not all 100% orriginal lets debunk them also... wow... it looks like we got almost no genre left... hmm... well let me just play tetris all day then... :roll:

There are alot of RPG's also on the 360, mostly the public might enjoy shooters more, but if you dont like them you can get alot of fun of the 360 wich does not involve shooting.

If the 360 was a "shooter console" that would mean it had only shooters.  The 360 owners liking shooters more than other genres doesn't make it a shooter console.  But that really depends on your definition of shooter console.  I interpret it as in a console having only or mostly shooters, which isn't true.  Others may interpret it as a console that has lots of shooter fans.  I'm not entirely sure which definition this thread applies to.

MGS doesnt just have a shooter element, it is a shooter, so is devil may cry 4:|

I love how he cherry-picked a picture of the main character from Mass Effect holding a gun, but picked pictures of MGS4 And DMC4 where the main character wasn't, even though they do.

I fail to see any rationale here whatsoever. Sure, the 360 has alot of shooters. But every genre is available in spades on the 360.

Xbox was a shooter console, that's why I was never interested in buying one. Xbox360 true has a LOT of shooters, a bit too much for my taste, but is in no way a shooter console. That's why I bought one. It has excellent shooters as well es excellent RPGs, a handful of good colourful games (Kameo and Pinata come to mind), XBL Arcade games ( ! ) and all the other genres. No one can deny that the Xbox360 features a hell lot of shooters. But the sole reason why the 360 owns the first Xbox is that it offers brilliant games (or promising future games like Assassin's Creed) in almost every genre.

That's why having both a 360 and a Wii at home rules so unbelievably much.
