As you can see Shungo, you ARE disproven that 360 only has shooters or that it doesn't have as much focus on other genres as it does on shooters. You speak about our denial? Looking at this list, who's REALLY in denial? So please PLEASE reply to this post and see if you can still validate your thread.

Mass Effect isn't a shooter. It's an RPG.

And as a 360 owner, I'm looking forward to Guitar Hero II and Forza more than anything else.

That list was the TOP 3 games coming in 2007 for 360, not Top 3 shooters coming for 2007 for 360.

If that's the case, then there was no point to this topic considering you mentioned MGS4 and DMC4, which have shooter elements in them also.

Wow, the original poster is very ignorant. First off, that is not every 360 owners top 3 games. Secondly, Mass Effect is an RPG, Bioshock is a FPS/RPG hybrid, the only true FPS you have in there is Halo 3. Lastly, one of your 'top' PS3 games is already on the 360! XD

That leaves 2 open slots for PS3 and 1 open slot on 360 open to debate on which is generally the most anticipated. There's no other clear front runners like MGS4, or Halo 3 on PS3 to really speak for the majority of fans, just like there isn't a stand-out 3rd option for 360 fans. However the fact that 1 of the generally accepted top 3 games for 360 is a RPG pretty much discounts your argument. shungokustasu

I go by forums, youtube, gaming sites, and magazine to find out which one was the most anticipated games. I know you a huge fan of Jrpgs on the 360 that are not even out yet (how does that make sense?). So you now what to debate with me about which game is the most anticipated for each system. You gave me Halo 3 good. Now what about Mass Effect? You think it's a striaght RPG? I never heard of an RPG with shooter elements until Mass Effect which so happens to be on a console know for shooters? Coincidence? I think not. Being a PS3 fan I know what are the top 3 games on my system is. I'm on playstation.com forums all the time.

Mass Effect is a RPG. Just because it has a unique combat/squad fighting system does not make it anything but an RPG. Would you classify Final Fantasy 12 as an MMO merely because it lifts many of it's battle mechanics from Final Fantasy 11? Of course not. You should be championing an innovative combat system in an RPG utilizing strategy, magic, and modern weaponry rather then classifying it as a "shooter" merely because it contains guns. In addition if you wish to make the argument that Mass Effect is a "shooter" then by the same logic you should state Devil May Cry 4 is a shooter as it is an action game with heavy shooting involved. I don't think of it as that, but if you're willing to generalize Mass Effect and lump it into "shooter" I see no reason why you shouldn't do the same for Devil May Cry 4. And lastly, that still leaves to debate the 3rd "most popular" 360 game. You say Bioshock. While that game is highly anticipated, I've seen an equal amount of excitement over Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Ninja Gaiden titles, Crackdown, and yes even Devil May Cry 4 now that it is on 360. I just feel you're picking and choosing your argument in a very weak manner, so as to prove yourself right. I'm not denying shooters are popular on 360, but they're also popular on other consoles as well. I think it's just easy to lable the 360 as you have (falsely) merely because it's biggest franchise happens to be a FPS title.

Okay now you're shifting your argument to games with "shooter elements" which squarely includes MGS4 and DMC4. So replace Bioshock on 360 with Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Too Human, Eternal Sonata, Banjo Threeie, or some other non-shooter title and you have an equal list between 360 and PS3. End of argument.

So if any of the games in the top 3 have similar elements in them, then they the system they are on is a "_____ console" So the following would be true: The 360 is a "Sci-fi console" The PS3 is a "Third Person Action console" The PS3 is a "Sword console" The 360 is an "Achievements console" Do you see how stupid that sounds?

OMG. Who says that 360 owners are "only looking for one type of genre"?! All 10 million 360 owners just look for nothing but shooters? :? What? This topic is just getting to be a waste of time...

Prove it. Get the list of 360 games and let's see how many shooters it has.

And make sure it's a list of games that cost 50-60 when they came out, and got above a 7. (The price thing is to keep XBLA out of it). Too bad you can't put amount of sales in that too, just for extra proof either way.

I knew I should've been more clear about this... AS OF RIGHT NOW, it has too many shooters, but that of course will change in a hurry when Mass Effect comes out in a couple of months.

Most of the "best" games on the 360 are shooters. I call it the "shooter console" because it what fans look forward to the most on the 360. Unlike the fans on Wii and PS3. They don't look for one type of genre. I love how the list of 360 games shows up. They prove nothing. Lemmings swear it does.

You call it a "shooter console" because the games that you believe most 360 owners are looking forward to are shooters. Yet you put Mass Effect on this list as a "shooter" simply because it has "shooter" elements? The PS3 is a "Third person Action Console" There are too many third person action games on it. The only games that PS3 fans look forward to are third person action games. Once PS3 fans start looking forward to other types of games, then the developers will start to make games other then third person action games. Again... can you see how stupid that sounds?

That list was the TOP 3 games coming in 2007 for 360, not Top 3 shooters coming for 2007 for 360.
