Why is this even being debated? The topic title reads "Confirmed: Xbox360 is a shooter console" which anyone with half a brain knows is false. This discredits any logic in which case, the topic should be locked.

People will argue over anything. Even indisputable fact.

Oh, and btw - Mass Effect and Bioshock aren't shooters.  MGS4 is much more of a shooter than either of these games, if you are looking at splitting hairs.  I bet you shoot fewer than 100 bullets in the entire game for Bioshock, given how scarce ammo is going to be in that game.

First of all, let's see the games:

Mass Effect: Has shooting elements, but is not a pure shooter, and is an RPG.

Halo 3: FPS. K.

Bioshock: RPG with shooting elements

Now for the PS3 games: MGS4: Action with shooting elements.

DMC4 (Which is also on the 360 by the way in case you forgot), hack n slash with occasional shooting elements.

Heavenly Sword: Action/hack n slash.

The other thing that makes this argument tiresome is this... If a console has a significantly more amount of shooters than the other genres, but the games are actually good, then what's the problem? So what if they're shooters? They're good games. Yeah, it'll come down to opinion, but if your a 360 owner, and enjoy Gears, then great. What's so bad about that?

And of course the biggest title out for the PS3 right now happens to be a shooter. But if you like Resistance, then fine. I'm not gonna go and trash you for that. Fanboys probably will, but for the most part, if it happens to be a shooter, so what? It's a good game. If other upcoming games like Blue Dragon, Lost Odessey, Forza 2 have some success, then that would be a big boost.

Here are more facts. 6 out of the top 10 games sold on the Xbox360 are shooters. The past 4 years on XBL the number 1 played game has always been a shooter. The attach ratio for a shooter to Xbox360 is higer than any other genre twofold.
If you want to convince me that Xbox360 is not a shooter console prove it to me by looking foward to games that are not shooters. Like the PS3 and the Wii we look forward to ALL genres.

I thought Too Human was an Action Adventure game.

I figured it was a hybrid, so I put it in with other RPGs from Japan. Either way, I'm amazed you are possibly the only person in SW who took the time to reply to this topic crushing post.

I'm on my lunch break so I'm eating, but no lemming has proving me wrong. You all in denial and acting like 360 is the "holy grail" of diversity. You all want to argue on a topic instead of the issue. "Mass Effect is an RPG". Did you really think I didn't know that? Seriously? "Those are not my top 3 games". That's why the 360 has more RPG's, Racers, and Sandbox games compared to the PS3.

That's why 360 is pretty much getting almost all of what PS3 is getting.
