A $300-400 console (if you want a hard drive, whichi s 99% necessary, you are paying that much, I could include controller costs too, since people include mouse/keyboard in PC costs all the time, but I'll be the bigger man)
Stalkerfieldsis
A controller comes with the system :?
A non-Gaming PC ($350-600 on amazon, depending on model)
That's $800 to $1000 total for two inferior devices, plus the inconvenience of having to switch between two devices when going from home PC things to gaming (or vica-versa), as opposed to one superior, all-in-one device. Yet most of you guys believe the console setup is a better choice.
Stalkerfieldsis
Consoles have games that PC's do not. These games may appeal to certain gamers more than the PC exclusives.
This point kind of poo-poos on the rest of your post. All-in-one devices may not be what the consumer wants, as it may not have access to what that consumer wants. All-in-one media devices differ because, by-and-large they have access to very similar software (very few exclusives).
PC also has exclusives from consoles too, except that the consoles exclusives are mostly derivative (Gears/uncharted style) third and (cod/BF style) first person shooters, and hack N' slash (God of war and its clones) games. PC has mutliplat and exclusive games in those genre's too. But its real exlcusives are more exclusive because its not just an exclusive franchise, it has exclusive features or an exclusive genre altogether.
Example:
PS3: Killzone 3, just another 24 (32 for KZ2) player online with a linear stoy, God of War (Hack N' Slash, sooooooo unique:roll:). Uncharted series, lets be honest, it has (albeit well done) standard third person shooter gameplay that's very linear and its strongest point (story) isn't even gamepaly related!
Xbox 360: Halo series, basic sci fi shooter whose claim to fame as a franchise was stealing the concept of online gaming from PC and putting it on consoles successfully. Standard 24 (or is it 16?) player multiplayer, with a linear campaign. Gears of war: Campaign is normal linear affair, didn't even invent good third person cover either, Kill.switch did that. Dark/Demon Souls (for no, may go to PC), yeah, like PC doesn't hve hardcore RPG's
PC: MMO's (99% of the entire genre), RTS's (99% of the entire genre), Free-to play...well everything (99% of the gene), Arma 2 (super-large scale shooter with very unique tactical gameplay, 225 square kilometers of destructible map, player created content, the abiltiy to have over ONE HUNDRED PLAYERS) a VERY unique game. Red Orchestra 1 and 2, 64 player authentic WW2, Tribes Ascend, the original fast paced sci fi game with vehicles, accept with much bigger maps than consoles, and higher playercounts, Skyrim (yes, the greatly advanced graphics and huge amount of mods pretty much make it a different game, now with steamworks mod support so installing mods is not a hassle at all), Flight simulators (not arcade flyers, we have them too, they just aren't exclusive), true racing "simulators", GT and Forza are still fairly light games, they have realistic handling, but not really sims. Along with these truly unique exclusives, are numerous backlogs of older epic exclusives (STALKER for example) as well as console-associated genres like thirdperson action/adventure having plaenty of multiplats, where the PC version is often superior (batman Arkham series anyone?, Deus Ex 3?). Plus there are plenty of multiplat and exclusive Indie/Arcade/Downloadable titles a la Minecraft.
So yeah, consoles have exclusives, but PC has games like those exclusives and it has more meaningful and unique exclusives of its own, including entire genres.
No one cares if you think PC exclusives are superior. A lot of people obviously disagree.
It doesn't matter anyway, since gamers such as myself simply buy everything so that there's nothing excluded from our personal gaming library.

The question was what game can a PS3 do that a PC can't. Uncharted could be on PC and look 100 times better. It's not like the PC can't do Uncharted. Even the most moddest gaming systems could do Uncharted a lot better then a PS3 can.
vtoshkatur
You clearly missed his points. Uncharted is an exclusive franchise that has no plans for it to be brought over to the PC. Thus, that is something the PS3 has that the PC cannot match.
Yeah because PC has WAY WAY WAY better games then Uncharted. We wouldn't want that linear console garbage anyway. I'm just saying. PC would do it better.
What are these games that are so much better? I have a gaming PC, maybe I should play them. As it stands, I'm not seeing any major advantages.

"But, this system has these games I really like and that system doesn't."

you still havent answered my question. What question? The fact that the Pumpkins are Classic Rock? That's not a question more of a scientific fact, Once a band has been around for a quarter of a century it's considered classic rock. Anyway I feel like I'm losing a few IQ points even engaging in a conversation with you so let me clarify a few things for you. Yes, you are stupid as hell and you have a terrible taste in music and the fact that Disturbed is you're favorite band makes it so your opinion about music is completly irrealvant. Yes The Pumpkins are classic rock, I'm a obvious Hermit not a lemming, perhaps you need to re look at the sticky so you get the fanboy nicknames right. and finally. Console gaming is dead. Get over it noob.
I own a 360 and a Wii, and a healthy supply of games to keep me happy for years to come, and all together I've spent roughly $250. I bought the 360 at a Gamestop for $40 through the combination of a sale, a 50% off used purchase coupon, my Edge card, and a frequent buyers discount a friend of mine who works there gave me. I bought the Wii off of a friend for $50. I barter games off of my cousins (which I would quess was around $90-$100 worth), and sometimes I just get them free. The most expensive thing I've bought in the last 6 years was Skyward Sword, which I bought release day w/ controller ($70).
You want to know why I refuse to buy a gaming PC? I'm a farmhand, I make very little. I'm not even sure if I make minimum wage in my state. Sometimes I just work for a days worth of food, if the farmer doesn't have the cash to pay me and a few other guys I work with. I've spent $250 in the last 6 years on my gaming hobby. A low range gaming PC still costs more than my entire current gen collection has cost me combined. I'm not interested in having cutting-edge hardware or having the best looking games. Gaming is a hobby, and electronics aren't that important. I'm not going to go spending all my savings on something that won't help me study for my biology finals. I have a mid-range ASUS K52F laptop, a blackberry running on Sprint, and 2 used gaming consoles that I still don't play as much as my 14 year old N64... and all these things are more than enough to satisfy my wants and needs.
You can have your gaming PCs, but the reason I'm a console gamer is that it is cheaper. There is NO WAY around that fact.

Surround the "like" with commas, as it is non-essential, and spell 6 out rather than use the numeral, as it is less than 10.
you cite costs yet you have a mid range laptop on top of 2 consoles Let alone pc games cost way less than console games ( i spend about $70-80 a year on games and each year i can buy 20-30 games with just that money )adamosmaki
The laptop was a Christmas present, I didn't buy it. And like I said, that's $250 over 6 years, and I don't like buying things over the web. Last time I did I bought Photoshop using my parents money (I was in high school, didn't have a job) for it's full price, my computer crashed, so I tried to get another copy and they said they didn't have a record of me buying it or having my name or my parents names in their databases, so I just ended up pirating it. It's not that I don't like PC gaming, in most situations I'd say it's vastly superior, but I don't have the time, the money, or the patients to dedicate my resources to a hobby.

I can understand time, patient and not having games you like as reasons but imo i never understood money as a reason As for buying digital there are companies that allow you to download a game and burn it to a disk to re install it without having to redownload it ( thats the great think about pc gaming choices. There is literally no rational counter-argument to this.

Someone who likes to game with friends and family in the same room with incurring a large overhead (ie several gaming computers for LAN gaming in the same room) has little to gain from gaming on PC. A Wii would be the most obvious choice, then 360, PS3, and PC at the bottom of their priority list, barring an individuals preference for specific titles.
Ergo, said person gets a console, and a cheapo desktop/laptop because it fits thier personal needs/
How can console gaming be dying when sales combined are always going up. This gen alone added about 25million systems. I think they are just mad about always having lower game sales than console.p4s2p0

That Xbox took 8 months of saving and waiting to buy when I finally decided to buy one last year (and remember, it only cost me $40.)

Exclusive games on consoles override owning a singular device for gaming (in this instance, a PC) for many people.
How many of these "almighty" console exclusive games have features and gameplay not available on PC? None, on the other hand, games like ARMA 2, Planetside 1 and 2, RO2, and entire franchises like MMO's and RTS's are exclusive to PC with unique features and experiences. Like I said, cookie-cutter shooters and slashers with name-brands aren't really worthwhile exclusives.

It's not about the features or the gameplay not being available, it's about the games themselves not being available. A concept you seem to not be able to grasp.
People don't run their purchases by you, so your opinion on them is largely pointless (moreover, I don't really give a crap).
